Electrical Stabilizer jacks won't work.

Hi...we just brought our new Rockwood ultra lite 2703 TT home today. We had a very thorough walk through and everything worked. However,
when we got home and tried to lower the electric jacks, nothing happened both front and rear. The tongue jack works and everything else works but can't seem to find the problem. I saw on another forum something about an inline fuse. Does anyone know anything about a fuse and if that might be the problem or any other ideas. We called the dealership and they couldn't help us over the phone, so it looks like we will be making another trip back there tomorrow unless we can discover the problem ourselves and fix it. Would appreciate any feedback you could give us.

Have you checked the converter/fuse box for a blown fuse ?
Fuses by battery ?

Also if you do find a blown fuse I'd suggest replacing it with a auto resetting circuit breaker of the same amps.

There also be a manual reseting curcuit breaker that you may have to reset by the battery or under the tounge of trailer.

Push the little button in the middle of the breaker. It should be by the battery.

Same thing happened with our Windjammer when we brought it home. We replaced the fuse in the converter/fuse box and have not had an issue in two years since the initial replacement.

For reference, if you run the power stabilizers all the way to the mechanical stop and aren't fast at releasing the button, you'll blow the 15A fuse in the DC panel. I found out for myself...

Dave, I don't think you are alone in that category or going in the stow mode either.

We have a 2702ss which had a similar problem. I believe both jacks are wired together on a 20 amp fuse. Our box is under the fridge. Replace and you should be good. Ours was a result of a bent screw on the rear causing a little added stress as well.

Also dont try to (Double Team) the jacks at the same time(you & wife or you & kid or? The fuse/S/B will blow also. Most TT are wired together front & back for the S/jacks. Youroo!!

I kept blowing our 15amp fuse on our 2604 and I found that if I stop the jack an inch or so short of retracting against the framerail and then bump the switch only until the jack bolt touches the frame, the blown fuse issue disappeared.

I have a 2013 wildwood xlite 261bh with electric jacks and tongue jacks. I also have a remote that runs the jacks and awning. The remote no longer runs just the rear jacks, but runs the awnings and front jacks fine. I can hear a relay clicking the same as when i run the front jacks with the remote. The rear jacks work fine with the button on the trailer, just not the remote. Any ideas before i tow it into the dealer 70 miles away? We had the tongue jack up and put some stress on the rear jacks the last time we packed up, but the remote worked fine then...

Last time I lowered my jacks on my Rockwood 8329SS that I recently purchased the stabilizers only worked when I was plugged into shore power. I just assumed thats how they worked but apparently more investigation is in order....Anybody else experience this?

My 8315bss did the same at the weekend. When I switch the battery isolation switch back into the on position ( green light under the fridge) the stabilizers worked on battery power.

I was thinking about that after I posted. The battery switch was in the disconnect position. I will check it again this weekend. That was one thing the dealer never explained during the orientation. Tks!

That is it. The stabs are the only outside electrical that runs through the fuse panel. The tongue jack, tongue light and e-brake run directly from the battery.

I had the clicking sound coming from somewhere when I pressed the button on my stabilizer jacks remote. The remote would not operate the jacks, but would operate the awning. I started tracing the clicking sound, and discovered an auxiliary fuse panel on the floor under the sink in my Salem Cruise Lite 171RBXL. In the panel were fuses for the jacks, awning and other items, clearly labeled. I pulled the jacks fuse and found that it was blown. Replacing the fuse solved the problem.
