Exposed wood under 2509 slide

Not sure if there's a section to post things to look for but I found this exposed wall board under the slide. I could see water wicking its way up into the wall and rotting. Not sure why they didn't cover it.

Put a piece of Eternabond over it.

I think I'd saturate it with some wood treatment. I'd go for several coats.

Thompson's WaterSeal comes in spray cans and you can get clear or some colors.
There are other brands out there, so just pick your favorite and coat it well.

Update: I did spray the wood and entire area with automotive undercoat before I posted. Gets into all the cracks and makes a nice protective layer.

I was just going to say I had an issue like that when we got our unit. I used rubberized undercoating on the entire area and 8 years later it is still fine.

They didn’t cover it because they don’t give a flying f$#k....there’s no quality control in this industry...even when it comes to the super expensive rigs. Sad, but true.
