Exterior Light on 8285WS

I have a blown bulb in the upper outside of my Fifth Wheel. I got my BIG ladder out to replace it but could not get the screws out. They look like a Torx head but none of my bits will fit. Upon closer look the head looks like it had 8 slots not the usual 6 in a Torx. Has anyone had to change the light, if so what did you use to get the screws out?

No, everything in the trailer is a #2 square drive but not the outside lights. Go figure.

If they have 8 slots, will a regular phillips not work? You can always get a Dremel and rework the phillips to fit.

Ran into the exact same problem. I used a slightly bigger square bit and hammered in in the head of the screw. I replaced the screws with stainless steel ones after. I done this to try and replace the rusty trim around the light but still couldn't get the trim off after removing the screws so I painted the trim. The lens is also secured with 4 screws that I think are phillips, but the screw holes will filled with caulking, and it was impossible to get them off. If you have luck, take pics and post with your solution.

You were right. there are 4 phillips screws in the lens cover and they are filled with silicon caulking. I had to dig it out with a thin blade screwdriver and a pair of long nose pliers. You can see in the picture the 4 chunks of silicon that I dug out of the screw holes.
