Another possibility is the connections on the inside of the camper. The light unit connects to the camper wiring harness with crimp-on caps. If a wire has pulled loose you will have similar syptoms.
This lamp is on the outside of the front storage area in our 5th wheel. It is very easy to jam something long into that area (I keep my torque wrench there).and perhaps knock the wire loose. Just a thought.
