if you keep the truck in the garage be sure and check the height on the F250&F350 they are taller for 2017 and probably won't fit in most garages

No regrets.
Only regret you should have is you have not changed your SIG

I DID change my signature to reflect 2017.
It has always said from day one:
Ford F-Series SCREW 4x4

That covers every truck I've ever owned or ever will.

OK, what a long day at two dealerships!!! Ended u back where I bought my 2016 F150 eleven months ago and think I found the right deal. That is if there really is a right deal now a days with the price of these new 2017 F250s. Since i'm in New England and all the trucks come with the snow plow package (as previously mentioned) the vehicle I found has the snow plow package with the FX package, but not the camper package. It's a 2017 F250 Lariat 6.2 with the Torque Shift G 6 speed transmission and 3.73 rear end. It has all the goodies and comes in at 2,895 payload on the yellow sticker. This one also has the adaptive steering, which the one from the other dealer didn't. This feature seems to make the steering much nicer. I guess my question is, are a lot of you pulling average size 5ers with this kind of payload? If I ever upgrade to a 5er down the road I want to make sure this will be sifficent. I don't plan on bying a monster for a 5er, because I like the medium size ones better. Her's a picture of the truck as we took it for a ride to the locale RV dealer to see if it would play nice with the trailers.

Thanks
Gas or diesel. Hmmmm. Big decision. Plenty here to read about before you make your decision. But definitely upgrade to the F250 if that's what you're looking at. I'm sorry, I'll probably get flamed, but if you're going to be doing some serious towing, you need to go diesel. Especially out west. You will never look back.

I agree, if I was doing a lot of towing and out west a diesel would be my choice, but since wife drives truck everyday 10 minutes to work and we only tow about 2k a year we've decided a gasser.

Sorry, didn't see your post #44. Is that a diesel truck? Don't know much about Ford trucks. Thank God! Kidding! Just kidding! Enjoy your new truck and have a blast!

EDIT- again. That gasser will be just dandy for what you guys need!

Np... Have had all makes of trucks, but the leg room in back seat for my tall kids was our biggest reason for the ford. Now that I'm on my third one I think I'm hooked. Happy camping!

That's a great looking truck! That power train and payload should be just right for your needs. A diesel would not like a 10 minute daily drive. It wouldn't get warmed up. Make sure you break it in right.

Just my opinion, which is worth what you paid for it.

Good luck with it.

andymill... Thanks, very excited about picking up this morning. With all the research I've done feel it's the perfect fit for us, but then again did the same thing with the 2016 F150 I'm trading in and here U am eleven months later trading it in. Any suggestions on best way to break it in, would be appreciated. I know I shouldn't tow for the first 500-1000 miles, so have some driving around to do over the next two weeks before our next camping trip. Funny thing is, the truck just came off flat bed from delivery so only had 3.4 miles when we test drive it. We actually babied it on test drive because we new it needed some break in time. The one we drive earlier that day, different dealer, we may have not babied that much.

Enjoy! That's going to be a great truck. Don't baby the break in. Drive it just like normal. The adaptive strategy will learn how you drive right from the start. We sure like ours.

As far as break in, I agree with 5picker, don't baby it.

For 500 to 1000 miles, vary the speed, vary the load, and don't be afraid to let the engine spin up to 4,000 rpm. Don't use the speed control, don't tow and don't floor it. You'll find some YouTube videos on the subject.

I manually shift (when breaking in) and let the engine speed run up higher than it would in automatic, without flooring it.

I bought my F250 diesel used. The first owner put 18,000 miles on it in less than a year. That had to be a lot of constant speed driving. I don't think it was really broken in until it had 30K on it.

Hello, Everyone... I wanted to report back in and let you know that I absolutely love the new 2017 F250 and how much more stable the vehicle feels when towing now. Even when the trailer moves around a little bit in the rear, the truck feels well planted and in control. I was able to get 900 miles on it before my first tow and the first tow was only 45 minutes away from the house.

The one thing I did notice with the new setup is I was getting a little more porpoising and some sway in the rear of the trailer this trip. I thought I had lowered the ball enough for a new setup because the trailer was riding level and front wheel well returned to unhitched ride when hooked up, but now from the attached photo, think I need to lower my ball one more hole. I think this will help out and can't believe the F250 sags over 2.5 inches when hooked up. My question is, are any of you F250 users using Timbren's? I had them on my F150 and they made a great deal of difference in the ride when towing (no porpoising and reduced sway).

When I had the 13 F-250 I added the Timbrens and it was a good move. The TT I pulled weighed in at 10,000 lbs fully loaded. I had the Blue Ox with the 1500 lb bars and everything worked out. Sorry, but I was never happy pulling with the 6.2.

I just put a set of Timbrens on my 2013 F-250. Only made a test tow so far but when loaded made a world of difference with squatting and ride harshness. I have a 5th wheel that weighs 10k.

My tongue weight may be a little less than yours, but I'm not seeing either of those issues with my F-250. I would try lowering the ball another notch first. Trailer looks nose high in that picture. That might be enough to solve the issue. The truck has a pretty good rake to it from the factory, so some sag in the rear is OK if the truck ends up level when loaded. In your picture the truck looks pretty close to level, so with the ball a little lower you should be level or still a little higher in the back of the truck. May well fix the handling issues.

I went from a ram 1500 up to a f250 king ranch gas and love it. It pulls our 31 tracer up hills just fine and the comfort level is incomparable.....(when towing, that is!)

Thanks all... I'm going to try dropping the ball one more notch this weekend and take in on a drive to family outing Sunday. The F250 really is a sweet ride and feels so much more comfortable towing than my F150 with this setup. The great thing is I know I'm not even close to payload numbers with this truck and just need a little more time with setup process to get it working just right. Thanks for the advice and input on how your rigs do with similar setups.
