Angry Fair Weather Rockwood

I have a Rockwood 8329SS which is less than 1 year old. Just returned from a Thanksgiving camping trip in pouring rain. When we started to unload, I found a fair amount of water on the floor around both ends of the kitchen slide & the carpet was wet at both ends of the living area slide. Both slides sit on top of the wheels.

Anyone else had this problem & what they did to solve it.

I'm calling the dealer on Monday before my warranty expires.

Did you not buy the second year factory warranty, for only $150?

Seems a "somewhat" common problem. Wheel wells not sealed well. I could see light on one of my wheel wells. Caulked it up and good to go.

This really doesn't surprise me. Looking under the slides, you can see where they slapped sealant and foam blocks to seal the slides when closed. My foam blocks are hanging on by fear only. I was going to address this in the spring. My dealer service dept. is more like a high school shop class.

Limey,
I see you're from Houston, TX. I live near there and was thinking of buying a Rockwood 8329SS. What dealer did you buy from? Thanks, Ron.

If there was water on top of the slide from rain before you pulled it in, it could just be water running off the top of the slide onto the floor after you pulled the slide in and drove up and down some inclines.

When it's been raining and the slide is wet we use an automotive windshield squeegee thing right before we pull the slide in, then run a towel across the top of the slide after we pull it in.

Curious about this as well. I don't remember my dealer mentioning the second year warranty for $150, so I assume I didn't buy it. I'm wondering if it's possible to buy it now (9 months after initial purchase)...

Limey, DeMontrond is offering a Lifetime Warranty now that is supposed to be good all across the country. I've been looking at a 8329SS there because of that. I'm still doing research before I buy because I want to make sure the "Lifetime Warranty" is actually a GOOD warranty. Best of luck to you, Ron.

Thanks Youroo. Any advice on how to get in touch with the warranty department? (Other than just calling the general number and asking for that department)

I went here and selected my trailer and sent them an email, there are phone numbers you can call also:

Forest River RV Contact Us - Forest River, Inc.

I did mine about a month and half after the 10 days they mention and they gave me the 2nd year extension for $150.

I forgot to ask when I took tt back in, but have since called several times, left msgs with no reply.

I see from some of the other replies, I need to contact FR for their extended warr.

Don't see roof issues, delamination issues, frame issues or other expensive problems, being covered on that list.
