First camping experience in our Rockwood 8265WS

Wife and I finally were able to go camping for four days/nights at Holiday camp ground in Traverse City, Michigan. It is a beautiful and very well kept campground. We wanted to try everything out on our camper so that we would have any problems resolved by our dealer before traveling further from home. We experienced two problems. First the shower hose fitting on the inside shower was cracked which made for an interesting shower for my wife. (I am glad she went first.) A very short trip to an RV supply place, less than $10.00 and about two minutes of work solved that . The other problem was that the display on the radio quit working. I called our dealer yesterday, and he told me to take out the radio and bring it in and they would test it, and get a replacement for it. I did that this morning and they expect the new radio with-in 7 to 10 days. They also gave me a replacement for our shower hose. I have been very impressed with our dealer. We experienced an extreme down pour for two plus hours one morning, which was a great test for any leaks. We taped the roof with eternabond last week for which I was glad. We are very pleased with the quality, layout and ease in towing our fifth wheel thus far, and have a couple short trips planned next month. It was a great first experience. Happy camping.

One other thing was the Serta sleeper mattress. After one night we bought a 2" memory foam pad per the many post about that issue. It was a great solution.

Great to hear good stuff.
Good plan on short trips to start out. Looks like easy fixes for the bugs you found.
Enjoy a great summer of camping!

DO you put the eternabond tape right over the soft sealant the factory uses?

sschifer. Yes I did put it over the existing caulk. There is much information on this forum about eternabond, with some pictures of the application as well.
