Was my wife's idea to hit the camp site. Is just 20 miles away from home; with hills and some traffic combined with highway speed. Was pretty darn windy and is not funny to tow and some jerking your tail with every gust; kept me on my toes.

I was surprised that I had pretty much all I need it. No need to run to the store because some they I forgot, all plug and play.

Most definite... a cordless drill will make life way easier with the stabilizing jacks.

Hi all. Questions re: 2017 Rockwood 2306...what is the best way to keep tabs on your propane levels? And is your only option when running out to refill them (i.e. I'm assuming there is no propane tank exchange at Home Depot?). Thanks much...

first night "yard" camping in out 2306

Assuming you have two tanks, shut one off when full then when the other runs out turn it back on and refill the other.

Always have your tanks "refilled"
Exchange tanks are less then full when you buy them.
Unless of course you don't have an option.

Yes very good point TURBS, should thought of that! So no to the weighing of tanks or some other gauge and the control panel does not indicate level like the tanks do?

You "could" use a gauge, but to me they are expensive and are not very accurate.

You could weight them as well.
Remember a full tank is only 80% full for expansion.

Hot Water will show you the tank level. Just wait for the water to form a line or feel the cold part, that is propane liquid.

Should work with auto selector valve just fine. The only problem is that is a manual and visual deal. You have to be on top of it, checking the status. So is a very sound practice to leave one shut until you find out the tank that you are using is empty. At least you have a half point to sustain operations while you seek a refill station.

+1 on refill; exchange is not fully filled at recomended capacity.

Imho I think it is cheaper (where I live) to exchange the bottle than pay the price they charge per gal. at the refill place.
