First Trip 2009

I just got home from a 2500 mile round trip journey, from New Mexico through Arkansas, down to the Gulf Coast, then back home. The truck and trailer both cooperated completely. I was pleasantly surprised, I didn't have one single issue the entire 9 days. The Rockwood "ruled". Me and the Wife both just located our biological fathers, and made the trip to meet them. All in all it was an excellent week. Just wanted to brag about how well the trip went....haha. I think my ol truck is a little tired though, 2002 Chevy 2500 HD 130,000 miles now. Thanks for providing me a place to ramble.

Sounds like you got your season off on the right foot. Gotta love it when the planets line up like that! Your truck isin't tired, is just getting warmed up at 130k.

Keep it tuned & lubed and get it to go for 500k. Might have to wash & wax it from time to time.

Glad to hear you had an awsome trip. I envy you and would love to go to other places other than the wolverine state. As for the truck it took a 2500 mile lickin but just keeps on tickin. Gota love it.

Our first trip out is this weekend to a local Yogi Bear park nearby. Looks like the weather will hold out and be in the 60's.

We are at T-minus 5 days and counting for our next trip. Gonna head to eastern Washington hoping for some warmer weather. Will be dry camped for 6 nights and it will be the first real test of our new solar panel system.

Days camped in '09 so far: 14

Wildwood, how did the riverside campground in Sevierville look? In good shape?

Leaving tomorrow around 6:00 am for the first outting of the year. I can't wait to get going. Washed and waxed the motorhome over the weekend, still pooped.
Currently looking for a new shoulder and calves on eBay to replace the worn out body parts.

Wow, we just dewinterized and are on our first trip out now. Got a really late start this year , hubby was saving his vacation for June so he only has one work day left in July and then retirement. Hopefully we will now get to do lots of camping and get away from the Chicago cold this winter.

We are having problems with the hot water heater going off not sure if it is the wind or just the heater.
