Today I took our Rockwood 2604 WS and Ram 1500 Ecodiesel across the CAT scales with the following results:
Truck and Trailer weight (no bars) =12,480; Front axle = 3340; Rear axle = 3820; Trailer axles = 5320
Truck and Trailer weight (w/bars) = 12,420; Front axle = 3460; Rear axle = 3580; Trailer axles = 5380
Truck weight alone = 6360 Front axle = 3680 Rear axle = 2680 (estimate weight of me, DW and dog at 400 pounds)
Conclusions:
Trailer weight = 6120; Pin weight = 800; truck weight 5960 empty (est)
With No spring bars , Front axle is 340 lighter than truck alone, Rear axle is 1140 higher than truck alone. (both axles within rated 3900 pounds)
With spring bars, Front axle is 220 lighter than truck alone but 120 pounds heavier than without bars; Rear axle is 900 pounds higher than truck alone but 240 pounds lighter than with no bars. Trailer is 60 pounds higher with bars than without.
Payload from truck door sticker is 1200 pounds GVWR is 6950. With spring bars I'm carrying 680 pounds (900-220) plus the weight of me, DW and the dog (400) so I'm 80 pounds over the payload and 90 pounds over the GVWR.
Trailer tires are LR C rated at 1760 pounds so they're 1600 pounds below max capacity.
