First Windjammer Trip - The Slides

My first trip in my Rockwood Windjammer 2809W was a great experience. Everything seemed to go well as I learned about my new trailer.

I was slide-stupid. So, I learned things that you old-timers already know.

First, pick a site that has clearance for both of my slides. I had to straddle a tree on this first trip.

Second, don't store things you may need on the road in drawers/cabinets that are blocked when a slide is retracted. My jacket was in my closet and my maps and park reservation info were in my dresser drawer. Both blocked by my bedroom slide.

Welcome and congratulations on the new Windjammer. With experience comes wisdom; with age just comes...well, aches and pains, mostly. Seriously, you'll find that the folks here are very friendly and willing to answer any questions you may have. Ask away...somebody knows an answer for any question, problem or situation you want to ask about.

BTW, fitting that tree in between your two slides apparently worked pretty well, from the picture, and if it worked, it's all good.

Thanks for a welcome. Only been here a few months. Members have been most helpful. I learn something just about every time I log on. I'm still reading posts new to me from long ago.

Congrats on the new Windjammer and the first several trips will each bring a new educational experience. Our first "straddle job" wasn't with a tree but with the power pole and water hydrant. Enjoy!

We have also had to do the ole "straddle dance" with trees, utility box and water/sewer hook ups..not to mention the misshap when the DW left a pantry door open prior to the slide going out....guess which one won ...
