Forest River customer service is AWESOME!

We have an 09 Rockwood 8317ss. We too, had some major delamination problems. Ripples at the top on the side and hard bumps on the inside walls. We bought our trailer from Illinois and had it shipped to us in NJ. Our salesman was more than helpful to us, even 2 years after the sale!! He contacted Forest River for us and they agreed to fix it for a fee, as we were out of warranty. My husband and I felt that was unfair as this was obviously a manufacturing defect, not a maintenance issue. But, our salesman advised us to get the unit out to the plant and we would go from there. Feeling as though we had no choice, we had it transported back to the plant the day after Christmas.

Well, long story short, we just picked it up from the plant on friday and we are beyond pleased with their service. They wound up replacing both side walls, the back wall and the front wall as well as the entire roof!! They determined they all had water damage. While they had it they did a complete inspection of the unit and found the hitch light wasn't working (hadn't worked since we bought it) they replaced that, a floor vent that had a small crack in it that we were not even aware of and a bunch of other odds and ends. All this for no charge, as they said it was a manufacturing issue. They apparently had a problem with about 300 units close in serial numbers. Whatever the case, we are totally impressed with their service. We will forever be Forest River happy campers!! Click image for larger version

Good to see that Forest River stepped up and fixed it at no cost instead of hiding behind the expired warranty.

Hopefully you'll be able to enjoy camping again!

Man,short of the floor and actual frame sounds like they replaced everything! It is good to hear that a parent company like Forest River is stepping up to the plate and fixing these major issues rather than hoping that the issues as well as the customer will just fade away.

I think they only want the customer to fade away when frame issues are involved. I wonder why Forest River doesn't make Lippert disappear and get another company to provide frames for them?

RattVader, yes, we were thinking, wouldn't it have been more cost effective to total the unit and give us a new one!? 62 hours of labor were on the work order, plus countless parts including 4 walls and a roof!? Go figure!? They even replaced a graphic that had a bubble in it, I forgot to mention in the original post! Totally impressed!!
