Can someone tell me why on the rockwood mini lite 2304ks 2019 model year has to different sizes one is 43 and one is 58.

if you go into rv trader and look up the great outdoors rv Greeley Co has 43 gal. waterdog rv Dayton OR has 58 gal.

I'm not sure why you would look at commercial 3-rd party sales sites instead of the Forest River Rockwood Mini Lite site which says "58 gal". Click on Specifications.

Because I am looking to purchase one and this is what I ran into. The 2019 also has in the bathroom sink one has shelf and one has to separate holders. This is way quotes have come back. That why confused. Can I buy direct from Forest river?

The problem I have with that, is when I was looking at our Cherokee on line with FR the spec and the drawings all showed "Pass Thru Storage" up front with doors on both sides. None of the Cherokees had the doors on both sides. Only one door on passenger side and nothing else. I contacted FR half a dozen times about the discrepancy and never received an answer.

Accuracy of FR specs might have been a bad assumption I made. However, as was noted, looks like sales sites may not be much better. I guess putting eyeballs on units might be best.

i agree nothing better than seeing for hand. Line in Massachusetts and none to be found around here. Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and Virginia closes to me. Thats why trying to get answers here. RV dealers cant help either.

Are you looking to order or are you looking to buy something off a lot?

If ordering, you will need to contact a dealer that will contact the factory and determine how they are building them at the moment. They can (and do) change design options throughout the model year build process.

When we ordered ours, the design/trim/options changed several time over the course of the 2016 model year. It took several calls to the factory to determine what it was going to be and even then, from the time we ordered it until it arrived, there were a few changes. (we knew in advance as our dealer was VERY willing to contact the factory and keep us abreast of what was going on)

If you want to buy one from dealer stock, your best bet is contact that dealer and have them explain what it has. An early 2019 might be a good bit different than one just delivered today.

Forget 3rd party specs. And Forest River brochure/website specs have been inaccurate too. But I'd believe FR's posted specs, before I'd believe 3rd party or dealer posted specs.

And NO, you can't buy direct from FR. In fact, there are only 2 or 3 small RV manufacturers that allow buying direct from them.

It could just be the wrong numbers reported or a (mid)model year change.

You say the 2019 has x, implying that you are looking at 2 different model years.

Also typically the brochure is tank + water heater size, dealers may use this, just the tank or 5 year old data.

We just bought a 2019 Rockwood Signature 5er. It was built on April 4, 2018 - very early in the 2019 model year. The 2019s are supposed to have a larger 60 gallon FW tank but mine was listed by the dealer as having the same 43 gallon tank as the 2018s. I'll buy a gauge and check it out but it seems that Rockwood uses up old stock from the previous model year before they start adding the new features so if its built early in the new model year your trailer will be more like the previous year's model than the new year's model. That's probably why the info on their website lags behind the changes at the factory.

In my case, I saw the changes they were making with the mid-2019 models and didn't like some of them. I luckily found an early-2019 on a dealer's lot that was really the same as a late-2018. The larger FW tank is the only 2019 feature that I really would have liked to have.

You'll notice their brochure says they reserve the right to make changes as they want without notice. That's one of the things they change and you have no recourse. The entire RV industry does this, not just Forest River.

Bob,

All Rockwood Mini Lite models FW capacity was increased during the 2018 mid-year time frame (last Jul or Aug) from 43 gal. (37 gal FW tank + 6 gal in HW tank) to 58 gal (52 gal FW + 6 gal HW).

The FW capacity shown in the 2018 and 2019 Mini Lite brochures includes both the FW tank and HW tank.

A 2019 Mini Lite manufactured before July 2018 likely has the 43 gal. FW capacity.

It doesn't. It has a 52 gal tank (plus 6 gal in the WH). When boondocking, it doesn't usually matter how much water you have, it's not as much as you'd like.
