The Haloview does have a cover, as you can see in the pics. I don't think it is extends far enough, fore or aft, past the camera. The one time I drove in the rain I did have water getting onto the lens. Before I use the TT in the spring I plan on shaping a larger piece of 16 gauge metal, shooting it with several coats of black rustoleum and epoxying it on top of the factory cover.

One comment and one suggestion:
Comment, no matter the cover over the camera, rain will swirl the the trailer draft and cause moisture on the camera lens.
Suggestion, a hood extension should be independent of the camera. The reason is that it may interfere with the rear view. If it is made to pivot off the top two screws, it can be adjusted up. We used Rear View Safety cameras and that is the way the hoods are attached. Aluminum would be a material of choice-easy to form and does not rust. When I did my mod, I painted the hood white. It does not absorb heat and the color blends with the TT.

Thanks PenJoe. You've prompted me to re-consider. The OEM cover is separate from the camera but is pretty close and I had worried about blocking the lens if the extention I added was too long. Now thinking that fab'ing a whole new cover with extended coverage past the lens and longer legs would be a better solution. I could use the OEM one as a pattern. Thanks.

I think no matter what you do as Joe mentioned, water mist will cover it anyway. The nature of that location. You just like making stuff, lol.

X2 on the Haloview being the better value for the money. One other point I'll put out there for those considering Furrion vs. Haloview is that you can buy individual parts with Haloview if something happens after your warranty has expired. Not so with Furrion. Stuck buying a new system (Camera/Monitor/etc as a package).

I bought one of the extension antenna's ($13) to replace the antenna on the camera and move it 16' further forward on my roof (34' toy hauler pulled by a crew cab) and totally eliminate any interference from other wifi sources when in a business are with alot of wifi around. Since then, I have no lag, hesitation or drop signal. LOVE HALOVIEW. Have also recently gotten the side view camera's that replace a marker light on each side of the camper so I can have a constant on view down each side AND the rear view. All active at the same time on a 9" screen.

I installed the Haloview mc5111 system at the dealer and it worked great during our trip home (at night). They sell an adapter plate so the camera can be mounted to the Furrion shark fin.

Mrprovy, that link is broken. I googled the description and it came up with the adaptor bracket that replaces the shark fin, when I got mine there were no holes that lined up with the shark fin plate holes, had to remove the whole shark fin. Which made sense anyhow, because I think it would stick out way too far if it was somehow mounted to the shark fin. I'd like to see a pic of what you did.

Haloview 7108 is on Black Friday sale right now for $197 on Amazon. That’s $145 cheaper than the Furrion

Just ordered it for Santa to give to me later this month

Thanks MrProvy, that one worked. But it's not compatible with my Haloview MC7108 camera anyway. Walaby that Haloview 7108 is about 300 bucks cheaper than the Furrion with 7" monitor. Good choice. Order the mount bracket too, but not the one Mrprovy linked to, that one is for a different cam.

Np...sorry it didn't work, I found it to be such an easy connection.

This will be my next addition, I think they'll be a nice addition to the system.

I agree. I don't even use my observation camera anymore. Drops out, pixilates, freezes up. Waste of money. Look elsewhere.

Ordered the bracket that says it works with the 7108.

Curious: What is the advantage to the side view cameras vs the mirrors on the TV? You should be able to see down the side of the trailer with the mirrors properly adjusted. Just wondering.

Parking up a curved driveway; I can keep an eye on the outside path without a spotter.

Thats actually something that would be useful for me getting the trailer in the driveway. Thanks. I already have a Furrion camera that came with the trailer so I have to invest in the both the side markers and back up camera. Something to keep in mind down the road.

I have a Furrion on my 5th wheel.. it tends to jiggle loose from the power connect, I have to unscrew reconnect and all works fine. Screen size is small so yes if you have the $$ get the larger screen. I really like mine when it works.

I bought the Furrion at the Frog Rally this year for $250. The first one had reception issues so they sent me a replacement and it has worked very well on my 40' toy hauler. Haloview is a good one as well. Big Truck Big RV reviewed the Halo on Youtube and he liked it.
