Genesis Tech DVD player problem

Has anyone had a problem with their DVD player, making a popping sound, and having the picture stop?
At first I thought it was the DVD that I was playing. So I traded out several DVD's and the problem persisted. It is like after about 15-20 minutes of playing, it builds up a static charge, pops, and shuts down. I have cleaned all DVD's before playing them.
Suggestions would be welcomed!

No, I haven't had that problem. I'd assume it is the unit itself since you have tried several DVDs. Have you played any CDs?

Another for, "that has not happened to me". No idea what it is, though. I know that Concertone's Customer Service is usually pretty responsive.
