Going to Mecca in the morning

Have a tour scheduled tomorrow at the Rockwood/Windjammer build an RV place in Millersburg (near Goshen, IN). We ordered a Windjammer 3008W scheduled for production Apr 23rd. They will be building other Windjammers tomorrow. We will post a pic or two if we are allowed to take any and will post any interesting highlights. We are so excited to see the build!

Highly recommend getting photos of wall structure if they let you.
Besides "I WANT A WIRING DIAGRAM!!!!"; "Where is that freaking stud?" is the biggest gripe on the Forum.

EXACTLY, herk.... Seen enough of the completed end product. Need to see the innards for down the road. I won't be shy about asking for anything and everything.

Our dealer, House of Camping, Bridgeview, IL, is kept up to date on orders by the Forest River folks and dealer gave us the build date. Dealer also gave us contact info to request tour. Rockwood folks confirmed our production date and arranged the tour for us when our model was going to be built. Nothing but very positive interaction with our dealer and with the Rockwood folks at the factory so far.

Check with them and they will most likely pass on any status they can get on your order. Congrats on the purchase and enjoy!

Yeah, I have a 2012 Windjammer 3008W and want to find the studs too. I especially would like to know where the stud is in the bedroom wall across from the bed (above the closet) so I can install a mount for an LED TV. If you can post it here I will avoid having to drill holes hoping to find it.

I would very much like any information you can get on your visit. WAY COOL!!!!

Thanks in advance and congrats - you will love it!

Yes Buffalohunter - big question of ours to get answered also. I will absolutely see what I can find out. That space tween wardrobe and ceiling is about 19"? Checking on what size LED screen will fit on a mount there. If I can't get some specs I will keep my eyes open and forward what I can find out.

It does great. I have been amazed with the horse power and torque that the Tundra has. I tow in the Sierra's a lot and the altitude doesn't slow it down like it did my other trucks. Another thing I like is the braking ability. Oh yeah and the 6 speed automatic transmission with "Tow Haul" is awesome too. In down hill conditions I shift into manual mode and save on the brakes anyway, but I have never experienced brake fade at all.

I have never felt like I need more truck to pull the trailer or safely stop it.

Skabi,

You are pretty close with the 19" estimate. It might be a little shy of that. I have a 27" Samsung LED display that is 16 3/4" tall w/o the stand. If I can find a stud I plan to mount it in the space above the wardrobe.

I really appreciate your help.

Great! Thanks for the information. It means a lot to hear from someone already towing the combination we will have here soon.

I did contact the dealer today an they do not have a build date on ours yet. I may still call and see if we can get a tour.

We did a factory tour about 3 weeks ago. You do not see the build of the walls. They are built in another climate controlled facility and then the walls are brought over to the factory where the trailers are built already made. Sorry to disappoint about knowing where the studs are.

As for the tour it was awesome! We went when they were building the Windjammers and V-Lites too. We should get our 30WTBS in a few weeks.

Enjoy the tour and ask any questions you want. YOu will be impressed with the quality control and inspections of the builds. Have fun!
