Goofy television issue

Hi everyone! We have. 2012 Rockwood 8293RKSS. We love everything about our TT. But it has this weird thing going on with the television remote. We have a television in the living area in the entertainment center. On either side there are doors to our bedroom. On the wall directly behind the entertainment center, there is another television mounted on the wall. Both are Toshiba, and both remotes are identical. When you turn on the television in the living area, the television in the bedroom comes on about 9 times out of 10. Drives me nuts! I can't figure out what the signal is bouncing off of to turn the bedroom television on. Has anyone else with similar configurations had this issue? If so, did you ever figure out what the signal is bouncing off of?

Not exactly but my TV remote was turning on the stereo. The only remedy I found was to place black tape over the stereo sensor so it could not receive the remote signal.

May we assume you closed the bedroom's doors?

I assume you did close the doors. The next question would be is the remote infrared or RF. If it's radio frequency then the signal could go through walls in which case the only recourse would be to unplug whichever tv you're not using or you might find a power switch for both tv's source that is A or B or A&B on.

With that, if you're using both it would be a real challenge to see the desired channels on each. That would be fun to watch.

Not the greatest solutions, but you can try:
* If it's a IR remote, you can craft up some kind of barrel type barrier for the IR sensor to allow a signal from a more direct perspective.
* You can try a universal remote. Low probability of success. Not really a guarantee, but some TVs will have more than one code that will work. It may work with a lower degree of functionality. Keep the receipt in case it doesn't work.

Ir light will bounce off any light colored surface. Try putting Scotch tape over the tv sensors to make them less sensitive. You can also experiment with the remote by aiming away from the tv when using it.
