You do have to get the trailer within about 1 degree of level before using the system or else the tires on the low side will end up completely off the ground.
I've never used an auto level system but is tires off the ground a negative thing? I see 5th wheels with 2 tires off the ground all the time.

I doubt the frames have been beefed up since you can get these as an aftermarket product from CW and from the pictures, it looks like it has "frame stiffeners" as part of the kit.

We have the level system on our 3029W WJ, works great. Pull in, unhook from TV, push auto level, 3-5 mins level, then slides out.

The whole purpose of putting wheel chocks on tires is too prevent rolling. I then tires are off the ground, you lose some of that resistance.

They leveling jacks would be damaged in my opinion if they were subjected to strong lateral forces.

I would only used the jacks to raise the tires if the trailer were connected to the tow vehicle with emergency brake set.

Our dealer actually indicated that you should auto level with the slides out since that way you get final level since extending the slides after level could cause an unlevel situation, especially on softer ground

My response: What does the manual say? Dealers are very often known to be ignorant and give bad advice.

The Rockwood manual makes no mention of the auto level system.

I don't recall any mention in the Auto-Level manual either

Here is the manual for the Lippert LCI Ground Control TT leveling system. It's a PDF.

We just bought an 8327ss with the 4.0 leveling system as an upgrade from our Summerland bh. I brought it home and took it directly to a local campground right down the road from our house to shake it down for the weekend. Have taken it on our first camping trip to the beach with it and WOW!!!!! is all I can say. The system works as advertised. Mind you, you still need to be fairly level, you can't park it on a hill side and expect it to level it for you, but most sites we camp at are going to be level enough. I unhook from the truck, turn it on and hit the level button. I just sit back and watch it do its thing, takes a few minutes but after it is done the trailer is rock solid. I don't need x chocks or braces or any thing else to get rid of the wobble in the camper, don't have to tighten the scissor jacks daily like I used to. Plus, when its time to leave, I hit the retract button and it brings the jack back to the height that I unhooked from and its ready for me to hook back up. Definitely recommend

After looking at several 8328BS's , we decided on a 2018 that was just delivered to a dealer in Michigan. It came with the new 4.0 leveling system, I was sceptical at first, but so far this system is great. The dealer's walk through insturustion was to park as level as possible and to chock the tires, so that the trailer doesn't roll, unhook the tow vehicle, turn on the panel, push the auto button and stand back. So fare it has worked flawlessly. Forest River has really stepped up there game, good job!

Agreed. The stability was also a big plus for us. I'm a big guy and I can walk around with rocking the entire trailer.

We notice most shaking in the trailer when the wheels are still on the ground. Once we get sites that are skewed slightly and get a set of wheels off the ground it really feels much better. It does get a few looks when people notice the jack is not on the ground and they think it's sitting on normal stabilizers in a TT.

Question MicroLite

Has anyone out there put the Ground Control TT leveling system on a Microlite?
I have a 2015 25KS and am very close to trying this system.

If it is not an option from the factory now the frame may be too light and subject to twist. If it is an option, check to make sure they did not upgrade the frame now for the option.
A neighbor was looking at a Rockwood ultralite TT and was told not available but is on the Signature series.

We have a 2018 Rockwood 8328bs on order, with all of the praise for the Auto level system we ordered ours with it.

Contacted Lippert and they said it will work on my Micro Lite.
Will not twist frame due to the jacks raising together and not individually.

Removed from Windjammer?

I noticed that the Windjammer line has been updated for 2018.5 models (completely new model numbers and lineup) and one of the casualties appears to the the Ground Control TT is no longer an option.

Haven't checked other Rockwood lines to see if it's still offered or not.

We got it in our 2018 Windjammer but it was listed as an option when we ordered it in the spring. It's still listed on the Signature ultra lite page but no longer on the Windjammer page.
