Ground Control TT Auto Leveling now available

I have been reading what limited info has been available this year and it appears FR/Rockwood will be the first OEM to offer it on their travel trailers (at least a couple of models for now). Would you go for it on a travel trailer?

I think its a good idea for the largest market of RV's sold....TT's. I am shocked it hasn't happened sooner. However, The LCI tongue jack failure rate around here on this forum (one myself) leads me to believe that there will be issues.

Very cool, probably old news to RV'ers who have been doing this for awhile, but I didn't know about those systems. My Wife and I were watching a RV pull next to us a few weeks ago and all they did was park and those auto levelers came out, then the slides and they were done in about 5 minutes. I was thinking boy, wish we had those! I figured it was for RV's only or they would have offered it at least as an option. I am sure a retro-fit will be out of our budget though...
Thanks for the article.

Good idea. Note the video illustrates you must have at lease a 10 inch frame to start with. Also back in 06 we had a Jayco Eagle 322FKS trailer that I could easily twist the 10 inch frame if I wasn't careful when raising the stabilizers. I found out because the doors would stick and cabinets would hardly open if I had one side a little higher than the other.
Use care & good luck.

Different than stabilizers ~~ they stabilize and level at the push of a button. I have auto-level on the 5er and would never consider any until without it in the future. Less expensive if added at the factory.

True but remember 5ers have a bigger frame than trailers to start with. Also not all 10 inch trailer frames are of the same caliber (some I-Beams some rolled steel)
Happy trails,

TT, 5th wheels, pop ups and motorhomes are all RV's. I assume your talking about motorhomes?

I looked at the video. Pretty slick. But I wonder how this would work on my TT. After manual leveling and putting out slides, I am about 1 1/2 inch off level toward the slides.
So, I to make level, I add a 2X8 under each slide side tire before leveling/stabilizing to start. I wonder if they have something built in for making an off level adjustment before beginning. But of course, how expensive after market. On my previous motorhome I had a power leveling system (not auto), that I could push buttons to make fine adjustments after final leveling.

After auto-level does it's thing if your slides put you out a little simply hit it again or manually adjust. Only takes seconds...

Yes it was a motorhome. I am still not used to all the different names for each. We had a truck camper before and called it the "camper" and we still call our TT the "camper", I guess we should say trailer. I have always called Motorhomes RV's, (my wife knows what I am talking about, why doesn't everyone else? ) but know now to be more specific.

The TT auto levelers from Lippert are not available for after market sales until some time late fall. This is the reason I did not order power stabilizers with my Windjammer!

From what I saw a 10"
And over frame uses the same rear jacks as the 5er jacks but the 8" frame used the same jacks as the front of the system.

I wonder how stable it would be with what looks like the electric manual jacks. I could see the 5er jacks being more stable.

So if this system will require them to beef up the frames, it could be a "blessing in disguise!"

Our 8329SS is our first TT. It is the one thing that I wish was an option when we ordered it in May 2016. I would love to add it on when it becomes available. I just wonder how long it will take to come out... And of course how expensive it will be.

Can not wait for more details to come out on them... Also looking for a dealer around Atlanta that heard anything about them.

Our local dealer already has a 2017 8311SS with the LCI auto levelers in stock. We were thinking about trading our 2013 model (8312) in for a different floor plan with more room in the MBR and still keeping the outdoor kitchen, so I was looking on their website and found a 2017 8311 and noticed the keypad in the "basement" storage compartment for the electronic leveling.

Would really love to get down there and see it in action, but they probably won't have it hooked up and ready to demonstrate.

A forum member had me looking at the 3006WK Windjammer because it has a bigger outdoor kitchen than the 8311, and I think it would be hard to go from a big outdoor kitchen like the one on the 8312 to the smaller one on the 8311, but now that the Signature series will have the auto levelers, we'll definitely be leaning in that direction. Love the 8328BS--just wish it could sleep more than 4.

We just placed an order for a 2017 8329ss with the 4.0 leveling system. Has anyone seen this in real life?? I've watched the animated video and I really hope that it works just as well!!! [emoji2]
