Heat will not automatically cycle on

I have a 2004 rockwood and we have the thermostat on auto, when we turn the heat on it will run for a bit then turn off and not come back in unless we turn the thermostat up. Any ideas of what may be wrong

Which kind of stat?
Dometic has had some issues on certain electronic stats.

If it's the original Stat, get a new one. Digital is much better than those old ones with slide switch underneath.
