Hello from new member with new Rockwood 8311ws on order!

Hi all, just wanted to pop in and introduce myself. I've lurked around on the forum for a bit and it's been very helpful in making a decision for my family's first camper--a 2016 8311ws. We have 3 small children, and we were going back and forth between the 8311ws and a Rockwood Roo 233s hybrid. I convinced our dealer to let me take the 8311ws for a "test tow", as I was a little intimidated by the length, but after taking it for a spin I decided to pull the trigger. We had to order a unit as we wanted maple, the second A/C w/50 amp service, and a couple other options their existing model didn't have. They're telling us we should hopefully be able to take delivery in mid-February. Can't wait! I'm sure I'll have lots of questions in the near future! I really appreciate all that I've learned on here so far!

Congratulations, I am also very new to the forum plus I just brought home our first camper yesterday it too is a 8311ws. I really like the floor plan of that camper, also I am using the Anderson hitch so far it seems ok I'm not sure what you're using for a tow vehicle so that might tell you more of what you want for a hitch . The people on here know a lot about hitches. Enjoy your trailer when you get it.

Congrats on your new purchase. I think you will really like the double awnings. Looks like you will end up with a loaded tongue weight around 1100# +- so be sure to get at least a 12000/1200 WDH and a good brake controller is you don't have one built in on your TV. Also, bear in mind your ccc will be reduced with the extra options and will likely be close to 1000# as the 1443 listed in the literature is without options.

Congratulations! We also have an 8311ss. I love the improvements they made for the 8311ws. You will enjoy it! It makes camping with kids so enjoyable. Lucky you to get the 2nd a/c. One thing I really wish we had added! Good luck to you and Happy Camping!!
