hidden subwoofer found

The Furrion soundbar's sound quality finally got me to designing a replacement. However, when I took the IRV amplifier out and looked inside, THERE WAS A SUBWOOFER INSIDE the cabinet with no way for the bass to get out (no opening). Huh? Who designed that? The fix was to bust out the two square holes and insert a pair of 6db L-pad attenuators across the feed to the existing soundbar, such that the sound level from that better matches output from the subwoofer. I bought a black metal grill from Home Depot to install behind the holes so it all looks professional. Wow! My mind is blown that this sub was present all along, but hidden and unheard inside the closed-up cabinet.

Good thinking!

We found our Jensen radio and sound bar,,,,lacking, at best.

Added an under $200 Yamaha powered subwoofer. Good to go.

I was surprised at the improvement.

Mine was mounted in a closed cabinet. I moved it to the TV lift cabinet so when the TV is up it can be heard. Now I have a extra cabinet where we store sodas and other canned goods.

Consider yourself lucky! Mine is supposed to have one, but I can't find it.

Canít speak for your model but in my Ultra-lite 2608BS the sub woofer is located in the cabinet under the bathroom sink. Not exactly the place one would look for a sub.
