Hide a bed

This might sound like a stupid question, but I just picked up my 2015
Rockwood 2604WS camper. I will be camping in it for the first time this
coming Thursday and will be having some company staying one night.
My question is. How do you open the hide a bed. Mine has the air
mattress feature in it. But I cannot figure out how to open the darn thing.
Don't want to force it and break the sofa before I even use it. I have the
very large draw beneath it, which is a great feature. Can store pillows and
blankets. And once I learn how to open it, how do you fill the air mattress.
Any info is greatly appreciated. I upgraded from a 2014 2304S which had
A Murphy bed that was a cinch to open. Thank you to everyone for all the
helpful input that I have gotten from this site.

Okay, on mine you grab the top back of the sofa and pull it forward. As you're pulling it towards you you'll need to watch that the seat back cushions don't get hung up. Continue until the seat back has completely flipped and is now part of the bed, so to speak. There's legs to unfold as well. At this point you have the base of the bed.

The air mattress has the air pump built in. There's a cord for 110V operation. You will see a round knob on the face of the unit, twist one way it inflates, and the other way deflates. I hope this helped, as I'm not at home to post pics..

Just to add to the above, ours has a feet on the bottom of the frame that can be adjusted to level the bed and keep it from rocking.

Hey thanks for the info. As soon as I get home today I will definitely give it a try. To me it looked like nothing wanted to move, so I didn't force it. I think I was pulling in the wrong direction. I was trying to open it like a regular sleep sofa. I see that was the wrong approach. So back cushions first pulling towards me.

Well I was finally able to try out the hide a bed. Pretty nice the way it opens up. Except that I have to move one of the swivel chairs way out of the way. With that center table that has the permanent lamp attached to it. Doesn't give you much room. I decided to pull that little table out. Don't really need it.

Thanks, wish that was the least of my issues. First time with new camper and I have a list of major problems. I think this unit was built either on a Monday when no one wants to be back at work or a Friday that they are anxious to go home. WOW!!!

I know the feeling from my last TT, it was a basket full of problems. So far our new one has had a few minor ones and I've been able to fix them. I hope you get everything straightened out....

We did the opposite and took a chair out. Penny likes the sofa so I use the chair.

I like the table lamp for evening reading.

The next thing we all figured out was that once the bed is opened and set up you can't get into the storage drawer. The storage drawer was obviously put there for linens and pillows and such, so be sure to get everything you are going to need out of there before you open up the bed.

(You'll do it to yourself. More than once.

)

The next thing you'll do, if your couch is in the slide room, is pull the slide in without unplugging the little air pumps power cord. You'll do that, too. once is usually enough. We penciled in a note on our checklist to make sure the couch was unplugged before moving the slide.

I have a 2010 2604 & had a problem with it every single trip for the first year. Some stuff I fixed myself, the major ones went back to the dealer. Since then we have had no troubles & love our trailer. We have discussed upgrading many times & then realize there is no need to since this one works fine. Stick with it & get things fixed under warranty while you still can. I'm sure you'll end up being happy campers!

Well I got a call from the dealer I brought it to. The only dealer in my area, or I have to travel either to Connecticut or New Jersey. This is a Jayco dealer that I have dealt with for many years. But if course they are not thrilled to be working on a rockwood. But, long story short. I was told today that while the trailer was under construction, the slide was installed incorrectly. It needs to be moved back 1 1/2" and two more clicks out. When the slide is retracted, I have about 1/8" from the corner trim to the ceiling by the bathroom door. During the walk thru on day of pick up, I pointed out that the slide was out further towards the back of the camper when in the closed position. Any way, took photos of everything and my estimate is roughly $650. And this is asked for when work is done. I was told to figure it out with the dealer I purchased it from on my own.
