Hot Water Heater

Last fall we purchased a Rockwood Mini Lite 1905. It was late fall so it was winterized and brought home. We are in the process of de-winterizing it, and have a question. Should the 110 on/off switch be on or off if just using the propane or does it matter. The owners manual does not address this other to say there needs to be water in the tank.

If your 110 switch is on, the electric heater is running. SO if you only want to use propane, then leave it off.
If your plugged into 110, then it is trying to heat the tank.

If your are plugged in and have water in the tank, use your 110 heater, no reason to use up your propane when you are paying for electric at the campground.

That makes sense. Would we have done any damage to the unit by having the electric on when we cleaned the unit this spring if the switch was off?

To be safe in case the tank is empty, it is better to leave it OFF. The reason being, if the tank is empty and you inadvertently plug into shore power and the water heater 110V switch is ON, the electric element will be burned out in seconds. So, it is better to leave it in the OFF position until you have verified there is water in the tank by flipping the pressure relief valve.

If the switch was OFF, you didn't do any damage at all.
Only if the switch was on and you didn't have water in it, there would have been damage.

I have another dumb question. And again the owners manual does not address this. We appear to have two separate lines for water. One is pressured (city water) which I understand. The other says B and B (Bed and Breakfast???) What does that mean? High pressure water line verses garden hose?

I am not sure what B&B would stand for.
No matter what, you should have a pressure regulator on your hose when connecting it to your unit otherwise you will blow out your plumbing connections and be in the nightmare situation.
There is no "high pressure" hook up that I have ever heard of for RV's.

B&B Molders is a company which makes RV parts (among other things?). Recreational Vehicle Products - B & B Molders LLC - Custom Plastic Injection Molding

The B&B just tells 'who dun it'. It's probably your non-pressurized fresh water tank fill.

The fresh water tank is filled from the side. We attached the garden hose on both the line marked city water, and then a second time on the B and B one. Both worked equally well. The city water line has a check valve. The other line in does not. Wondering why there are 2. Our other camper did not. Nothing about it in the owners manual.

... and these two connections are not on the side?

Maybe the one NOT for city water is for a black tank flush. Can you post any pictures of the fresh water fill and both these connections?

I will do that tomorrow. We were told by the dealer there was no flush on this camper. Our old one had a flush out. And was properly labeled. Thank you. Owners manual is less than helpful.
