Take a look at the Tires on your RV...all the ones I have seen (except for Class A & C's) say 65MPH Max.

I have a cruise control, and know how to use it It is set on 63 and DW & I are happy cruisers!

Our highway speed limit is 75 in Colorado but I usually keep it around 60 or maybe 65 if it's level or downhill. Sometimes other RVers blow by me at 80-90.

So I was wondering what speeds ya'll drive at? Do our tires really get extra hot at 75 versus 65?
sometimes RVers blow by you at 80 -90 that's scary!

The time gained at 70 is offset by the fuel cost at the lowered mpg. 60 is good and amazingly in 8000+ miles of towing in the last year, we found most vehicles give us the right away when we are changing lanes. Now, I turn my signals on in plenty of time but have yet to be cut off by another vehicle. We have not had cars fill the space in front of us and I do At least one vehicle length between my front end and the vehicle in front of me. We must be lucky....or I must look dangerous.

Special Trailer (ST) Tire Speed Ratings

Industry standards dictate tires with the ST designation are speed rated to 65 MPH (104 km/h) under normal inflation and load conditions.

However Goodyear Marathon and Power King Towmax STR tires featuring the ST size designation may be used at speeds between 66 and 75 mph (106 and 121 km/h) by increasing their cold inflation pressure by 10 psi (69 kPa) above the recommended pressure for the rated maximum load.

Those signs should read " drive it like you stole it, the last guy did"

I like keeping my RPM's at around 2000, which is about 60-62 MPH in Drive (not overdrive). Seems like everything seems to work best at that speed and my gas mileage doesn't suffer.

Speed is governed by your Trailer tires. If ST tires, then 65 is the maximum for trip. driving. Check your tires then go to the manufacturers web site where you will find the answer.
For us, we set the cruise at 63 and enjoy the ride. If I need to pass I'm up to 70 for the short time it takes to pass.

Being new to towing, I don't go past 65, and usually, I don't do that except on the rare occasion I'm the one actually doing the passing. I've had 2 successful trips so far with our setup, so I'm in confidence/experience building mode. Looking forward to many more safe tows at the speed I'm comfy in!

56-58 mph allows the fast traffic to pass quickly making exposure minimal...and seems like takes long time for next pack to catch me....and I still have not figured out why most of the same other trailers pass me 3 times when I stop at almost every rest area.

60 to 65 is just nice, there is the odd time I might go to 70 but that would be short term, there are so many bad drivers on our roads these days, so, to stay defensive I just pick my comfort speed.

We ride at 65 and slower uphill in the mountains. I don't let Sara drive much because she lets the speed pile up and before long she is going 80.

Speed limit on 2 lane roads in Ontario is 80 kph or 50 mph, on rural 90 kph or 55 mph. The max i do on expressways is 60 mph or 98 kph. I just check with my co-pilot and she confirmed my driving speed.
