Not hard, but expensive purchasing all new doors and frames.

IMHO it would be more work than it is worth.

I hadn't realised stow-bins weren't slam lock. On our '02 Georgetown, they all were. We had a problem with one of them sticking, but a shot of graphited oil fixed it.

Hmm. Not sure what you are asking here? I thought the 2604WS already had slam latches on the outside storage doors?

It certainly has a better door and latch than the micro lite models have.

Figured out my confusion: this is a part of the Emerald option package that I have. Apparently not all have the slam latches.

I wonder what the numbers are of Emerald units vs. base units are? Often seems that most dealers order the Emerald and very rarely do you see a base unit.

I got a solution! I am going to add one of these --> Thumb Lock - 7/8" - RV Designer L527 - Compartment and Hatch Hardware - Camping World
That way I don't need the key every time I need something in there.

Question....my compartment door is 3/4" thick, the only size I see close is 7/8, will that work?
Thanks!

Does that lock? Picture looks like it is just a knob?

I would expect that to work pretty well as it is only 0.125" longer and has plenty of threads to take up that bit of extra. It looks like they give you two latch plates for the back and that is likely the more critical dimension that will give you trouble.

No it doesn't lock, that is the idea....I hate having to use the key every time I need to get into the compartment so I will install the "knob" next to it (my other compartment has one locking and a knob). Then I just need the key to lock or unlock it when I want.

Just need to drill a hole and screw it in, should be a 10 min. job :-)

did you just drill a round hole? when I changed my keyed locks the "holes" had a flat spot on each side to keep from rotating
