Cool Hunt the Wumpus...or why is the subwoofer under the sink?

I'm adding a small 2.5 gallon electric water heater to the output of my new Girard on-demand propane water heater to cure the "first quart" problem. In doing so, I am taking apart the false walls under the sink in our 8329SS and I found the Wumpus, the mythical subwoofer for the 5.1 surround system installed in the trailer! I found it behind a false wall at the back of the under-sink area, a place I really can't understand.

Low frequency sound, as from a sub, is pretty non-directional. The box FR uses looks like two size 12 shoe boxes stand up side by side, painted black with an inch or so port above what looks like a 6 or 8" speaker speaker set into the front, no mesh or grill cloth, just the cone... The box is maybe 4" deep and held in place by two galvanized angel brackets loosely screwed to the box. I see a red/white wire pair going in, so it's not powered.

So why is mounted under the sink? Anyone know? Why not under the TV next to the fireplace, where I just may move it if I need the space. It's a design choice I just don't understand...

The location of a lot of things in these RV's make no sense to us mortal RV owners. I can only assume that they make some sort of assembly line sense.

Our remote receiver is located near the very back wall, under the oven as far away from the battery and landing gear as possible.

Typically, under the sink has a lot of wasted space that is unusable because of traps and pipes, that's probably why there was a false wall. Better to use space not fit for normal storage.

Bama & Aquaman, I hear you. And, making use of wasted space has it's appeal. I don't know that there is space under the TV next to the fireplace, but it sure seems like there should be. I have pictures of the under sink area and next week will see what's next to the fireplace...

yep.
high fidelity in a reverse polarity kind of sound = muffled McDonalds drive through like noise.

but if you wash the dishes and play music or watch a movie with a lot of tremors the dishes vibrate dry in no time.

We have a law against these in our town. If it can be heard more than 50 ft away you can get a ticket. But not enforced around my house, near as I can tell.
