Inflatable bed

Has anyone had problems with their inflatable sofa bed staying inflated? We have used ours twice. The first time it was great, the second night it continually deflated!!! Can't see any rips or holes and can't hear any air leaking. I'm stumped and frustrated!

I had the same problem.

Our guest sat on the front edge of the mattress with the round black dump valve and inadvertently pushed in the yellow deflation tab inside. The black cap was slightly loose and no matter how hard we pumped the mattress, it deflated slowly at night.

I finally ordered a replacement from Flair (75 bucks for a queen including pump and storage bag - a GREAT deal for an out of warranty item).

Shortly after I ordered it I found the culprit.

Last year I made a puncture and fixed it with a radial bike tire patch using the instructions on the card and it still works great.

We have had the same problem with our new fifth wheel Rockwood 8280WS. I could not find anything damaged and despite the regular decrease in inflation due to the drop in tempature during the night, it lost almost all of it's air over a 8 hour time period. I feel that the built-in air pump and it's inflate/deflate valve was the problem. Rather than ad air during the night or try to get it replaced under the warranty, I elected to purchase a regular Coleman Queen size air mattress that does not have a built-in air pump. I have used the new Coleman air mattress for over a month and no problem.
Good luck, Tom-s

I just got our 2011 back from the dealer for some warranty repairs. One thing that I had issue with involved the air mattress bag. They gave me a new bag but instructed me not to store it in the sofa as designed. The reason was that it pinches the mattress and causes leaks. This is a disappointment to us as we liked the feature. I am contacting FR to work out a solution.

I hope you have as good of a response from Forest River as I have received from them. We got this full packet of information on most of the materials used on our fifth wheel when we picked it up. One of the few items we did not get any info on was the sofa/bed. I do not know who made it. I to liked the storage bag attached to the sofa and now use it for the Coleman bed I replaced the defective unit with. I do not like the air bed with the built in air pump. I has to many places to develope leaks. The Coleman unit is simple and has a double seal air valve that I like.
Also if it ever fails, which most air beds will, it can be replaced with a new one at a very small cost almost anywhere a person is staying.

good luck, Tom-s

Mine worked perfect this year. The sofa/air mattress was used about 16 times with no problems. Every time I respond this way I get nervous.

Why are they using inflated beds in trailers. We had some inflated beds when we camped with tents and I found that they were the most unconfortables beds to own and they dont keep their air. When it is cold the pressure is too low and when it is hot they get overinflated. What a pain!!!!

inflatable bed comments

I would quess that the reason for switching from a regular sofa/bed with a mattress like the one we had is our 1997 Mobile Scout 33RK is as with everything today, "cheaper to build-less cost for materials".

Our 2011 Blur Ridge 3705BH has two of the air bed sleeper sofas. On our first trip out (two weeks ago) one worked perfect and the other one had a hole in the seam and would not hold air. Our dealer took pictures and is ordering a replacement.

Actually, ours is quite comfortable and even though both my wife and I have back and disc issues. On par with the Aerobed in quality and comfort. You do need to keep the material away form the pinch points (the bag DOES help if you have one (ours was a "first run" and did not come with the bag) and we no longer store the air mattress in the sofa, but under the main bed storage compartment with the sheets and pillows.

Inflatable Bed

I purchased my windjammer 0n October 1st of this year and the first time we used it I found a leak. The dealer said the only solution was a repair. I told them I thought a new mattress was in order but they said the factory would only offer a repair to the dealer. I am still pursuing this. Frank

I would contact them directly. If it is still in warranty they might be more willing to send you a replacement.

Inflatable Bed

Herk7769 The rig was purchased October 1st of this year. I am going to follow up with the factory after reading the problems others have had with this item. Thanks; Frank

My dealings with Flair were first rate.
I hope you have as good a luck as I did.
