Information on tire pressure needed.

We have a 2011 Rockwood 8265WS that we are taking on our first long journey soon. The tire on the unit are Duro Radial DS2100 ST225/75R15. The tire pressure indicated on the tire (which is next to impossible to read) seems to read 65 psi cold. On the metal tag on the trailer, it says ST225/75R15D, with a 50 psi cold clearly indicated. Does the D at the end indicate a different tire? If someone has these tires could you verify what pressure I should be running? Thanks.

I would guess the d is the weight rating on the tire.
with e load range being the highest d being one step below.
id go with what it says on camper.

I have the same tires on my Salem. Are you looking for the max pressure for the tire itself?

Different trailer but same tires 2100's same size. My tires say "D" load rating on sidewall and they are 65psi. 50 psi is generally a "C" rated tires if I an not mistaking. See if your tires have a load rating on sidewall if "D" I would agree you are reading 65psi. As for the sticker you said it mentions "D" and 50 psi? I do recall a thread earlier this year about some trailer stickers having this info incorrect, I do not recall if it was your trailer or even your trailer line

According to duro's website they make that tire and size in both a "C" and "D" rating with 50 and 65psi ratings respectively.

Yes the link is an IP address but it is real http://198.171.70.68/products/trailer/ds-2100.php

Yes, as leencharlotte pointed out, it appears that Forest Rvier had a problem with the wrong placards/pressure being placed on their trailers.

Thanks everyone for the clarification. I will look tomorrow to see if they are load range "D" which I think they are.

Personally I would lean to inflating according to the tire as the manufacturer has rated it according to the sidewall flex and weight distribution of the tire as it rolls, how it responds to this flex is how it warms, too much flex from low pressure will increase the temperature of the sidewall, possibly causing failure. Too much pressure will possibly cause tire separation.

Unfortunately, the reputation of the manufacturer likely preceeds the way the tire will actually respond to both temperature and load.
