I took my husbands Quick-Grip clamp - the kind that have kind of a pistol grip that you squeeze and the clamp tightens- slide the jaws apart until they fit over the cover the long way(so you are going to be squeezing the ends together) Squeeze the trigger until it grips the edges of the cover then squeeze some more and pull down and it comes off.

CharlieWD, thank you, it worked! They certainly don't slide off since the on/off switch is in an opening. Now I just would like to find a new light that is softer or a way to color the plastic cover to soften them. They give off some butt ugly light.

We are not able to push the ends enough to make the clips push out to take the light cover down. Any further suggestions?

Flatblade screwdriver

I put a flatblade scredriver between the side of the lens and the frame. Twist it slightly, and it should release the tabs.

Removing interior light lens

This style lens has to be pried out away from the clip to avoid damaging the lens cover. I was only able to remove one lens by pushing the ends together.

Then I thought of the perfect tool right in my garage! A metal paint can opener.

The flat hooked end easily allows one to pull down and out in each of the 4 cover notches and the cover releases easily.
