Interior oval light lens removal

Anyone know how to remove the lens from an interior oval led ceiling light on a 2013/2014 Rockwood Windjammer 2609? Just want to clean pieces of insulation from it.

On mine. You squeeze slightly and slide away from the center or outward. Mine come off real easily if they are the same.

Push up slide away from the center. It will feel like it is going to break the first time but keep pushing away from the center.

This new style is a single oval lens surrounded by a plastic bezel. Not like the ones that used to be common place.

I would use both hands side by side, grip the lens in the middle with finger and thumb tips and squeeze while pulling down.

Got it!

Ok. I finally figured it out. Pretty much the opposite of the old style. You have to squeeze the 2 ends towards each other, causing the sides to bow out and release the 4 latches. Here are photos with the lens removed for clarity.

Found the lights on ebay for $19 or at the dealer for $35.

All the squeezing I could muster up didn't budge the covers. So I found a screw driver and inserted into the openings and pried the covers off.

Does anyone know if the lights can be replaced with ones that are a little softer? I can't stand the harsh light the factory ones give off. Is it an easy job to replace them? Hope it's not as hard as removing the covers.

Bonnie these will not budge. They are filled with sawdust. Did you pry it off at the little spaces? Did it go back on? Thanks SueClick image for larger version

Are we talking about the ring around the lens or just the lens ?

Yes, lesser watt bulbs are made, you should be able to get them at a RV dealer. I replaced most of mine. The other option I did for over the bed was to mask off the inside lense about 3/4 with aluminum foil. That gave bright light to read but not to interrogate my spouse!

Sue, I did get one off but haven't tried any others and have not tried to put it back. I can't figure out why they should be so hard to remove and reaching up to the ceiling isn't that easy. I did pry off at the little indents.

Remove lens cover

We have a 2015 Micro Lite 25DS and I had tried all the suggestions to get the light covers off. I wasn't strong enough to squeeze the ends together to pop them off and was afraid I would break something if I tried to pry them off. I took my husbands Quick-Grip clamp - the kind that have kind of a pistol grip that you squeeze and the clamp tightens- slide the jaws apart until they fit over the cover the long way(so you are going to be squeezing the ends together) Squeeze the trigger until it grips the edges of the cover then squeeze some more and pull down and it comes off.
