It's Here!

Just got the call from the dealer that our 8289WS arrived. Not quite 8 weeks to the day of ordering. Had to go over and take a quick look. Actually Pick it up on Wednesday morning, just in time for camping this weekend. Had to use the old one two weekends ago .

A bit nervous about a 5er versus bumper pull but hopefully that goes away quickly. They made a couple changes since we ordered (and I will take pics and post). The two big changes that I noticed were 1) instead of the metal cover for the stovetop there is now a really nice smooth glass cover that folds much easier and is level with the countertop when not in use. 2) the caps to the city water, black flush and winterization port are much more durable looking hard plastic versus the rubber caps.

Gotta go clean out the old one tonight and get it ready to take in for the trade. Will be having a 3 year old Equalizer 4 point hitch for sale shortly.

Would love to see pics of the stove cover when you have a chance. Congrats on your new 5er!

Congrats on the 5er. Compared to a conventional hitch it tows so much nicer but you'll have to get used to hooking up and backing up. It backs up a little differently than the conventional hitch.

With a back seat in my TV I can't see the 5th wheel to hook up. I bought a $250 wireless camera and monitor. I set the camera with a mag base on the pin box. Works well.

Thanks everyone. Got all the crap transferred over the last two nights. Ready to head out on maiden voyage tomorrow. Will take pictures and post Monday. Hope all goes well. So far very happy with everything. Fridge fan is a little loud...old camper didn't have one.

Have a great time on your maiden voyage. Looking forward to the pics. I can remember when we transfered all our crap into our new Sabre last spring. It was a good time to thin out a little. Don't think DW even misses some of the stuff.

Wiscampsin - it is amazing some of the stuff I pulled out of the old one. A brand new wood outdoor shower platform that we had bought for our Roo years ago. Never used it. It's in the garage now. Still need to weed a couple more things out but overall was nice to get things organized again!
