J Wrap trim caulking

I have the RV in my signature. The caulking along the top of the 1" trim, where the J Wrap/panel is attached to the sidewall along the passenger side, started with a 6" crack and has now grown to several feet. Does this cause a water intrusion problem or is it cosmetic? I'm curious if this is from flexing from normal travel or cold/heat. I'm taking the RV into the dealer on Monday for warranty work and want to have them fix it while they have it.

Can you attach a picture?

I'm sure it would be more than cosmetic....along the top, as you describe.

Definitely have your dealer repair it.

That trim covers a metal channel that the J Wrap goes behind and screws go through the channel and J Wrap to secure it to the bottom of the trailer. The caulk keeps water from infiltrating behind and possibly into the screw holes. Happens often so try to keep some no sag caulk of the appropriate color in the trailer so you can fix when you notice in the future.

The dealership fixed the problem. There is aluminum sheeting that is about 7-8 inches wide that runs between the J-panel and the sidewall. FR didn't put enough staples in it and didn't place them close to each other, resulting in a slight bulge. It's all fixed now!
