ladder for slide maint question

I have found that I'll need a ladder for slide access, to clean or service. It's difficult to reach from the roof, and I'd rather not walk around on the roof every trip. I just found a loose seal at the top of the slide and can't reach it from the roof to glue it back in place. So, I want to get a ladder to carry on trips. The question is, do we need a step ladder, or is it ok to use a straight ladder leaned against the slides. We have a living area slide and a bedroom closet slide. Would a straight ladder put to much preasure on the slide? Thanks for the advice!

If you really need on and able to carry a folding 6ft ladder this is what I use.
Expensive but worth it when needed.

I think that that is the model that I have, but seven foot instead of six. Stores in my DIY ladder storage sleeve that I have yet to actually mount on the camper.

I carry the Xtend and Climb telescoping ladder, it's available in a variety of lengths to fit your needs.

x2. Great value - the 6 footer is about 4"x3"x6' of course. Very happy with this purchase.
