LED Light problem??

I have a 2015 Rockwood Signature Lite 8327ss. It is in warranty until next month. I have had 5 LED ceiling lights go out and replaced them myself. My neighbor is an electrical engineer and he checked out all electric areas of the camper. He found nothing wrong!!! DID I just get a lot of bad lights??? Any comments?? Furman Walter, Anderson, SC

Heat and voltage spikes are the biggest villains here. An incorrectly designed fixture that will not vent heat and/or a bulb that does not have adequate heat sinks will kill bulbs. As to the spikes, they have to be pretty extreme (over 24 volts) for most automotive led's. You would see the effects of that type of spiking. Perhaps not directly related, a power management system is a good idea to reduce and possibly eliminate the effects of bad shore power. I found one post with a polarity issue last year, and had the park repair it to the satisfaction of the PMS. Many park systems are not professionally engineered and maintained with competency.

If you do a search of the forum, you will find that many people have had issues with these lights. It appears that FR got a shipment that contained inferior components. FR has been replacing these. Contact them.

One of mine has gone out too and I've been searching for a replacement. Where did you get your replacement?

The part numbers for those lights are RSBF3-008 for the 3 inch and RSBF4-008 for the 4.5 inch light. The only place I found them for sale was at Trekwood RV parts. They cost about $14 for the 3 in and 16 or 17 for the 4.5 inch.

I too, purchased a Rockwood Ulta light Fifth Wheels, 04/2015. They still haven't addressed the problem with their lighting issue. I lost lighting in Six units through out the trailer with in the first year. My trailer has always been on a energy management system/filter since purchase. No error codes have shown up on unit for power issues. Of course when I addressed this isuue my trailer is past the first year warranty nor is it covered by the "Platinum Level" extended warranty sold at purchase. I contacted Forest River, pleasant experience, but was direct to their parts department for replacements. Cost of unit appox 18.00 without glass cover, I ordered 7, I think I be using that seventh one soon.
