End of season... that's a different story but 4-6 complete fills and flush each time you dump is a waste. (pun intended)

X2. We almost never have sewer hookups and do at a minimum 60 nights a year. I give it a good flush at winterizing time with the wand and a Valterra back-flow valve, then put the cover on. During the season it gets dumped when leaving the campground and thats it. IMO the built in flush is about the most useless thing on the trailer, and the only thing it's good for is holding up the line at the dump station. Have never had so much as an issue with the black tank. If adhesives do not adhere to a polyethylene tank which they do not, neither will a loogie fresh or dried.
As far as treatments we use the drop in dissolving bags, forget the brand maybe TST, which are the best I've found for any odors. No need for any bacterial action because its not a septic system. I'd rather spend my money on inebriation's instead of dumping it down a hole.

Been using small bottle of Dawn dish washing liquid after dump and flush for years. Cheaper than additives and never a problem of smell. 99 cents for small bottle at Wally World. Works for me.

At the end of the year, we toss in a few gallons of fresh water, then go for a drive. Dump, and good.

We have always used Walex drop-ins. Last year we switched from the blue Porta-Paks to the green Bio-Paks.

Have been using Blue Streak this past season, no bad smells from the black tank. Always flushed the tank well before leaving the campground. Prior to the blue streak we used the geo method for several years, never an odor problem using it.

X2 - Blue Streak is the best thing out there!

We supplement the Blue Streak with 4OZ of RV-Digest-it even black tank dump:

We use Charmin Extra Strong TP and have never had a problem (been using this system going on 5 years now )

Geo method. We camp every other weekend April to October, usually 2 to 3 day weekends but once a month maybe 4. So not too long in the tank. I fortunately can do tank cleaning /flushing at home.
One question I have about the Geo Method though.. Can it cause the rubber in the seals of the dump ports to dry prematurely? Seems mine get stiff and hard to pull open. I lubricate them which wotks for a month, then stiff again.

Are you using Calgon in your Geo Mix? (when we did it we used equal parts Pine Sol, Liquid Calgon & Dawn.)
The Calgon & Dawn really seemed to keep things lubricated

Yes, lots of Calgon. Use landry detergent for the soap part. Maybe should switch to Dawn. In all other aspects the Geo Methid works great.

Dawn is the best out there because of it's degreaser properties. Plus, Dawn is not a high-priced soap - you can even find it in Dollar General
Not sure if Dawn is the "secret" to having supple rubber seals, but it does have a softening component.
Now the Blue streak has specific additives to keep rubber seals supple and all components lubricated.

Well Blue Streak it is. Going to order it Monday. I have one question for you Blue Streakers though. How much blue do you go through in a season. I understand that many of you camp many days a year. If I get out 30 times in a camping season how many bottles will I possibly go through?

It lasts a pretty long time. We generally go through 2 bottles a season and that's a lot of use.

I use about two bottles a season like mentioned above.
You can regulate the flow slghtly using the supplied pinch clamp but in speaking with the manufacturer, the venturi in the tee is to draw the proper amount with the clamp open.
They did suggest mixing with a little water in the resivoir if you feel you are using too much.

So with 2 bottles how often are you going? We only go a couple weekends and one 7 night trip a year, I'm guessing 1 bottle would last us a while.
Someday work will allow for more trips, hopefully sooner than later.[emoji3]

Been using Blue Streak for a number of years. I dilute 50/50 water in the reservoir and have not noticed any difference in performance. It is a very thick liquid. If you spill some be sure to wipe up immediately.
