Smile Location of manual slide out insert?

Hello - just joined this forum. We have a 2-month old Rockwood Mini-Lite 2503S. There is much to like about the trailer but we've not been able to locate the insertion point for the slide-out manual override crank. If anyone can either describe or perhaps include a photo of its location we would appreciate it. Thanks much!

cathleen,
The insertion point is usually found on the side opposite the slide down in the skirt area.

if your mini-lite is same as in video and has the rails at top and bottom on the slide as in time frame 3:59 minutes in video then you have a Schwintek system and no manual handle. See other videos for how to retrieve slide.

Thanks for the assistance!

Thanks Fonzie. Yes, this is the type of system we have and now understand that even though we think they gave us a manual crank that it won't be useful given the type of system we have.

Please know that I appreciate the time you took to provide this information.

Happy Trails!

If they gave you a hand crank it might be for the stabilizers or the electric front jack if you have.

Sad to see another new owner not getting an adequate PDI.
Agree that the crank will be for something else.

What fonzie said. The crank is for your stabilizers, and also for manually operating your tongue jack. If you'd mentioned that you actually had a crank in your previous thread, I would have addressed that.

On our 2504s we were given three different hand cranks, 1 for the stabilizers (Long), 1 for the tongue jack (shorty) and 1 for the slide out (Med-long). In the owners manual I have, (generic "Travel Trailer Owner's Manual" with color cover) the manual slide operation is on page 26. It does say NOTE: Your RV may not be equipped with a manual crank. Contact your dealer for more information.

I think you should look to see if you have three different cranks. If so you're good to go. Ours was with the BBQ spatula and other misc. things.

Smile Thanks and more info

Hello to the 3 previous posters. I believe we have 2 different cranks - one we use on stabilizers but it's the other one we're uncertain about. We plan to "visit" the trailer in storage tomorrow and I'll take a few photos of both cranks as well as the seals that have come loose. Thanks for your patience and persistence in providing help with these questions.

Happy Trails!

On our Hybrid we couldn't find our manual crank port as well. Turns out they neglected to cut the hole. They fixed it right away. Just a thought.

We have the same TT and asked the same question. the following link solved our question on the slide out over ride. I suspect from what I have seen the manufacturer may install different slide out systems.

Good luck. By the way we love our trailer and have had only one problem with it, the power tongue hitch blew up on the way home from a camping trip.

I have a 2017 MINILITE 2507S and my slide does not have the rails on the side of the slide, rather it has 2 long racks underneath. What manufacture would this be? I was given a manual crank for it but don't know how to use it.
Thanks,
Ed

Your manual drive shaft will be either under the entrance steps or on the side of the trailer bottom covering.

Smile Thanks to all - figured out use for both cranks

Hi - quick update. We have now confirmed that one crank is for the levelers and the other for the electric tongue hitch. In the next post I'll have a couple of photos about those mysterious pieces of rubber tubing that dislodged from under the slide on the inside. Thanks much!

I have a Coachmen trailer and I have 2 slides and would really like to know where my manual cranks are. This is why FR needs to come out with brand specific owners manuals and not the generic one we have. One size does not fit all....

If your unit is same as in video, then your big slide seems to be as post #13 and small slide as in post # 3. In video you can see a manual handle in the storage compartment and this is probably for the big slide. Look under the entrance step for protruding shaft from frame.

Unfortunately generic owners manuals are a RV Industry standard, not just FR.
Only a handful of RV manufacturers provide such a manual, usually only high end RVs.
