Locking Fresh Water Door Installed - Mini Lite 2306

I decided since I live in a Condo and people have access to my trailer and since I am on the Board (some love me and some hate me)
I decided to install a Locking Fresh Water Door on the side of my trailer
I bought the Door at Camping World for like $30 or so

I started out by making a template out of cardboard
then I removed the existing water door along with silicone and putty
then put the template on the side and aligned it to what looked best
(I had to drop it down a little since there wasnt enough room above)
I drilled two holes and put stainless steel screws in the two middle screw holes to hold the tempalate
I used a Dremel tool with a round cutting bit to cut my hole out
tested the hole and trimmed what needed to be trimmed for the test fit - drilled the other four holes and installed the screws then removed the screws
once I knew it would fit I hooked the water hoses back, silicones aound the base that will meet up to the trailer (around the screw holes as well) and installed the water door and screwed it into the wall
once done I silicined around the outside of the door for added barrier from the water.
Below are pictures

You only have one chance to make this right so patience and taking your time is the way to go.

Only tools and parts needed:
Locking Fresh Water Door - Camping World
Drill
Drill Bits
Dremel tool with cutting disk's
Flat head and Philips bit screw driver
stainless steel screws for the new water door
Silicone to seal the door to the wall

you would be surprised what people do especially when you are the president of the board of directors and are trying to foreclose on them to get them to pay there bills
so I have to make sure that my fresh water tank does not get contaminated from anything

Hence why I made the template so I knew it would fit and have no issues of it looking like crap cause you only have one chance to get it right

Thanks - I figured I would do pictures so if anyone out there wanted to try something like this they will know what they are up against for the install

Lets just hope I didnt void my warranty - I didnt think of that until after I had it installed - DOH.

because I cut the fiberglass wall and it wasnt installed by the factory or a authorized dealer - isnt worried though cause they will have to prove that what I did caused issues

Nice. I am noticing a lot of things that can stand some modifications on my '11 rockwood that I just picked up. But the price was right for what I got in comparasin to other units. I am not un happy

What can void the warranty...well...let's see...did you breath while inside the camper...you voided the warranty.
If I had a job that scared me to the point of thinking folks would harm me...I would find something else to do!

I have put the locking water fill doors on all of our camper since the kids next door were seen putting rocks in our first popup camper! (Easier than pulling out the tank to clean it)

Nice job. I wouldn't have thought about contaminated water but there are sick people out there. I love the mods with pictures. It really helps to see the step by step. Thanks.
