Looking for info on 1998 Rockwood Premier Model 1908

I recently purchased a 1998 Rockwood Premier Model 1908 (PUP) with no owners manual or any other documentation (4th owner). I am a first time owner and new to this forum, as well.

I downloaded a manual from the Forest River website, but its very generic covering several different models and possible configurations.

I called Forest River to try to get any info (owners manual, specs, wiring diagrams, setup instructions, etc.). The operator sent me to the warranty department. They had no information from the VIN I gave them (presumably because its before the time that FR bought Rockwood). [They were extremely useless.]

I've been able to find some info, but again mostly generic stuff covering several different models and possible configurations.

Anyone have any more specific information on the yr/make/model? or any other useful info?

Thanks,
Anthony

Most of whatever was included with the unit when it was new, was very generic also. This is true with new units coming out of the factory today. If you have questions, this is a good place to start.

first - welcome to the forum.

Next - paperwork. what you already have is almost certainly what is available. The manufacturer never produced model specific books. The owners manual is always a generic document covering a number of different products. Add to the fact that most material printed about weights etc was not always accurate, well you get the idea.

For your weights etc., your trailer should have a yellow sticker on it that shows the dry weight, and the GVWR. If you want to know how much it actually weighs you will need to weigh it as even the yellow sticker is not truly accurate.

Purchasing an older pop-up is a bit if adventure. finding off the shelf parts can be a challenge, but most components are easily replaceable. Plus - the structure and build are usually very straight forward.

Hope you enjoy your pop-up. feel free to post specific questions on the appropriate sections.

Will a dealer/service place be able to help me get a wiring diagram?

probably not. there was most likely none that existed to begin with. most of these trailers are wired in the same style a stick built house is done. none of the wires are pre cut - there is no loom etc. they just run stuff as they see fit.
