We have the sister model from Flagstaff. The 8529IKBS.
Ask away!

I see it's your first post.
Welcome.

Also a friendly reminder about the search function of the forum.

Nothing wrong.... You might use the "SEARCH" button near the top of this page to look for answers to common questions.

most questions / issues apply to many models too as there are not many variances in equipment, just locations of everything. So many times the general or issues threads are more helpful then specific model information.

As mentioned, my friendly reminder of the search function was not meant to indicate you did anything wrong.

You mentioned in your original post that you will "start full-time in December and know nothing" and since it was your first post on this forum, I thought a reminder of the search function might be a good resource for you in your endeavors to glean information.

Enjoy!

You should be.
That's one nice unit.
Hope you like it as much as we do ours.

That's because people don't post about the millions of things that do work, only the few things that fail. Can you imagine the amount of threads and posts per thread if everyone posted about everything that worked?!?!?

I think this is a great forum for giving it a try!

There are many of those and I read them all too.

BUT... I will say... knock on wood... this one has been one of the best R/V purchases we've made in a while.

Gotta play the bad guy here. 2018 Cherokee 304BS is the 4th RV we've owned and by far the cheapest built unit I've ever seen. Two outings and it was dead in our driveway for a month waiting repair. It's fixed but the problem was entirely due to very shoddy workmanship. You purchased a very nice unit and I wish you the best. Hopefully you've got a unit that will give you years camping enjoyment. Now...get out there and start having FUN !!!

Congrats on your new Flagstaff Classic Super Lite! I love that floorplan. It's similar to the 8528IKWS but with a bit longer sofa and more room to move in the bedroom, but you don't get the extra pantry. I wonder why, for both models, they don't put the rockers where the sofa is (in the slideout) and give you a full width sofa along the back wall. It looks like there's enough depth for the slideout to come in without hitting a sofa.

I'll echo what the others said about using the search. You'll find weeks worth of reading if you want to learn everything about you're new trailer and all its systems. And if you're into modifying, there's tons of great ideas here too.

We just purchased our first RV (other than a pop-up camper in the 70's) and we picked the 8299BS too! I was like you...scared stiff after reading some of the postings...but then I remembered that people tend to scream only when they are not happy.

And...so far we have had fewer problems than we did with our former (not Forest River) make 5th wheel. The amenities, floor design and finishing touches far exceed our former one. We really like it. We do wish the larger 2 windows would open in the bedroom. It is harder to cool with the one 15000 buu air conditioner than in our former 5th wheel with only a 13000 btu one, but we now have 3 slides rather than one.

Think about all the happy owners out there. Some disenfranchised, complaining and grumpy people say all the bad stuff on forums like this. Make sure you check all systems, get warranty adjustments made and have fun!

That is the year we bought. I am at a conference now but if you are willing, could we talk more?
