Low water pressure when using pump in 8329SS

We have a new 8329 SS. When using city water, the pressure is fine, but when using the pump for on board water the pressure is unacceptable. Is there some adjustment or would it be bad to increase the pressure? Thanks for any help. Jim

Is the pump purged completely of air?, is there a fill tube for antifreeze that has an open valve?

Also, make certain you have adequate supply of water in your fresh water tank. Some tanks also have an outlet filter screwed into the coupling where the outlet of the tank attaches to the tube going to tank.

I meant to say "where the outlet of the fresh water tank attaches to the supply line going to the pump"

I had this problem on two different trailers but both ended up being the same, take the pump off and clean out the plastic pieces that it has picked up, when they drill into the tank they do not clean out the pieces and they eventually get sucked up.

Agree with DDC - I too have had this problem when the filter screen is hold construction debris - fine plastic shavings that prevent the system from pressurizing. Also however, if there is any antifreeze still in the system it will foam and froth under pressure and not build to pressure. The first thing would be, is the pump shutting down, meaning that it believes it has made pressure, or does it continue to run trying to build pressure? Two separate issues...

You can also increase the size of your pump. find the pump and on the side it will say how many gph. Then you can upgrade to a pump that has a greater gph. I did this and have the same pressure on pump or shore. Keep in mind that this will use your tank water faster.

Check at your pump and make sure that there are no kinks in the line. These pumps are usually in tight spots and during the construction they will hook those lines up just any old way. Been there, done that X2.

low water pressure

I had very low water pressure with new travel trailer. Problem was a kinked water line in 3 different places. Luckily was repaired under warranty. Pressure is now equal to if not higher than city water hookup.

Thanks to all of you for your guidance. Today a friend and I looked in the area of the pump, trying to decipher what line was what and if any lines were kinked. Everything seemed fine, so I was trying to figure out where these line and pump filters were, when my bud says "is that a shut off valve". He opened it and voila, we have nice pressurized water! DUH! I have never shut off my pump valve - just the electric switch. Is there good reason for doing this? Or does a new TT come like that? Or what else? This is our first TT after two pop-ups and a hybrid, and I sometimes still feel like a rookie! Two helpings of humble pie in one week!,
Thanks again, Jim
Ps. Now we're completely ready for our first trip out next weekend!

Sometimes there is a cutoff valve between tank and pump. This is to allow you to siphon antifreeze directly from a tube or the inlet for antifreeze installed on the outside trailer. I have seen some inlets without a anti siphon valve so you would need to shut off the freshwater tank supply in order to get sufficient suction to the antifreeze inlet. This is what I referenced in my first post though I was very vague in my post.

I had a 2012 Jayco hybrid that operated this way. I certainly could be wrong here but if this describes your setup then you may need to operate this valve for winterizing. (My Windjammer has an outlet on the outside that allows me to just attach a short hose and suck the antifreeze directly into the pump).

Really glad you found it and there was no real issue with plumbing. Nice to have a second set of eyes too! That's what I have a wife for! Lol
