LP Gas Line and Battery Box

Anyone ever had a squirrel eat holes in the LP line that leads from the gas regulator on the LP gas tanks or eat holes in the plastic battery box. We were camping last week with some friends of ours and smelled gas. After checking around the LP tanks found a number of small holes and one large hole in feed line running from LP tanks to the TT. There was on hole in the battery box that you could put you finger through. Any ideas on how to prevent this?
