Maiden Voyage

Good Evening,

First let me thank all those who responded to my "requests for help" over the last few days. We took our Rockwood Ultra Lite (35 foot)out for it's maiden voyage; after four years in a pop-up.

We had some good times and bad, but we completely enjoyed the trip and our new unit.

Right now the most perplexing issue is the rear stabilizing jacks. They worked fine on Thursday, started fine this morning (going back up) and then stopped. Good thing I remembered the hand crank. Not sure what the issue is there...but our dealer has a list of items to adjust/repair or whatever he decides to call it...but nothing major.

For those who have helped me:

1. The water heater worked great...started with gas and then kept it on electricity.

2. Got the TV to work perfectly. The rear cable hook up has an issue.

3. Even draining the tanks was not as bad as I had imagined.

So to all.....thank you, thank you, thank.

I can only guess here, as you have no specific rig info in your post or your profile...but:

As for the stabilizer jacks, if they are Lippert units, they are protected by both a fuse (in the power center) and a self resetting breaker (someplace close to the stabilizer, inline with the power feed).

I had my fuse go before my maiden voyage. I replaced the fuse with a self resetting breaker (in the power center), and have not had a problem since. If you do a search here, you can find other threads on this issue.

Glad to hear you had no MAJOR problems on the maiden voyage!

Glad you had an enjoyable first trip out. Like kalik, the first time I took my front stablizers up the fuse blew. Replaced it and have not had any issues with them since.

First time I used my rear stabilizers the fuse blew, I replaced it with a new fuse of the same amperage but bought at an Auto store and it has been fine since.

Could be a question of the quality of fuses fitted originally versus the ones I bought, didn't keep the packet unfortunately so can't say.
