A suggestion for bedding fit:
Mattress Suspenders

Standard queen mattresses are 60" x 80". Regardless of the size of your mattress, these suspenders will hold the fitted sheet in place and keep it snug. We use them on our PUP's bed...both the mattress topper and the fitted sheet. One set of suspenders for each item. We use the full corner-to-corner X-shaped suspenders and they do a great job.
As for blankets and the top sheet, I'd suggest harvesting a strip from old sheets/blankets and sewing it to the bottom of each piece of your bedding to create a much longer tuck area at the "foot" of the bed. Then, when you tilt the Murphy bed into the stored position, the longer tails on the bedding will keep the bed from falling apart. Extending the blankets with sheet material will keep the tucked area from being so thick that it raises the foot of the bed.
In fact, you could add a short section of fitted sheet to the foot of the top sheet (and blankets), or look for a top sheet that has a fitted bottom - we have that in our PUP's small, thin RV king bed. It's wonderful. I'm 6'6" and the top sheet never pulls out from under the mattress.
