Mini Lite 1809S - feedback appreciated

Good morning,

I'm considering moving from a pop-up to a small TT and have spent time on-line looking at MANY models. I like the looks of the Rockwood mini lite 1809S and was wondering if any of you have feedback you could share with me. I haven't been able to find one to look at yet but plan on going to the rv show in Tampa this week to see if I can find one on display. I just joined the forum and this is my first post...it seems like a great group.

Thanks in advance for your help.

We have a 2011 Rockwood Mini Lite 1809S & really like it. If you PM me I would be glad to tell you about it.

The picture in our signature was taken earlier this summer.

our new 1809s

We also have a 1809s 2011 that was fabricated at the end of august. We like it very much. The size is huge for a trailer like this. The new 2011 features a passage through luggages doors and you dont have to go inside under the bed to put your stuff. We boughy severals options when we ordered the trailer. If you go for this model make sure that you buy the option with the bigger tires. ( 14 inches versus 13 inches.) Unfortunately we had a few bugs that developped in our new trailer . I had to return it to the dealer for a water leak that was running under the floor menbrane after a driving rain. I find that this menbrane is very cheap. It is like a very innexpansive tarp that is not protecting the under of the trailer too much. You can see all the bolts under the trailer cutting through the menbrane like an open house. There is a lot of improvement to do in that section of the trailer. A better menbrane quality is a very must.be. We replaced a few flat mouldings inside because of the tons of staples that were put to hold them. Beside this it is a very nice trailer and go to the dealer and order yours today.I am including a few pictures of our baby

Thanks!

Capucine,

Thanks for the information and pictures of your 1809S. We're still looking and plan on going to an RV show this Saturday. I've found a Flagstaff version of the 1809S and really like it. I'll let you know what I finally decide.

jimandI: what are you owning to pull your future 1809s. I can tell you that I pull mine with a uplander 2009 and I have no problem at all. I use a reese 550 equalizer and I only use it on the 2nd chain link. Even with no equalizer my suspension goes by a inch to show you that the balance of this trailer is perfect. By the way I found my leak under the menbrane. It was caused by a lack of caulking under the baggage insert flange on the front. I did not find any caulking under the whole lenght of this flange. If you get the flafstaff instead it is the same trailer. Be aware that the flagstaff label will be discontinued soon from the catalogue. Good luck with your purchase. Us we upgraded from a flagftaff tent trailer. Boy what a difference it make. No potty in the middle of the floor!
