Mini Lite 2304 KS

So originally we were interested in either the 2104S, 2109S, or 2306. However, after seeing them today and others, we are now really interested in the 2304 KS with murphy bed option. It seems so much roomier, especially the bathroom and shower! It makes such a difference to actually see one and be able to walk around them.

One dealbreaker is if the trailer does not have access into the bathroom or into the fridge for travelling. In the 2304KS both are accessible with one minor adjustment. If we get this unit we would store the dining table behind the sofa and in front of the murphy bed (while murphy bed is folded upright). Then we just need to hop over the dinette end. Not great, but workable.

So wondering if anyone knows if the murphy bed can be opened while the slide is closed? Or can the sofa be laid flat to sleep on when the slide is closed?

Thanks!

I can't answer your question but I too really liked the 2304KS floorplan. The thing that surprised me was the tongue weight. My TV is only rated a 750 and with the 2304KS being around 620 I figured I would be pushing it.

Having been at another knowledgeable dealers lot and looking at another one of these I can now answer my own question. No. You can't open either the bed or the couch while the slide is closed.

Look at the 2304DS-two slides with a murphy bed. Great plan.

We are on our first trip with the 2304DS and it is amazing. So much room! Not having a bed down and two slides makes it! The bed is good too, it is a Serta Mattress and very good. We bought two high dollar pillows to boot. I think this is the very best unit out there. Our problem, like many, is the IR 33 radio does not work. The CD does not work, but all else does. Everything else is great. AC-codl, Fridg-cold, Stove-perfect, slides-perfect, all is good. I think the radio unit is poor quality, no doubt.

We were torn between the 2304KS and the 2503S. Ultimately went with the 2503S. We liked the bigger bathroom and the U-dinette that a real person can lay on if necessary. You can get to the fridge and the bathroom through the outside bathroom door.

Per my dealer, it's starting down the assembly line tomorrow.

i know on my 2104s i can open and access the bathroom and access fridge enough to get water out of the door with the slide in. I would have to agree the bathroom is a little cramped on the rv.

To "Prothus" and Rockfordroo" - I am considering either a Rockwood 2304KS or 2503S. What type of weight distribution hitch and sway bar (manufacture) do you have? I have a 2014 Ram 1500, 5.7 Hemi, 3.55 gears, class IV hitch. I have heard pros and cons about towing with a 1500. Towing capacity is 8600 lbs. Some have said I should not have a problem as long as I don't exceed that with the right setup. Others said I should go with a 2500. I really do not want to buy another truck. Comments are appreciated.

danield:

I currently have 400# Equalizer with the Roo 19. It has a dry wt of 3383 lbs, a GVWR of 4770 lbs, probably runs <4000 lbs down the road. I have had no problems or concerns with it.

The 2503S is coming with a 600# Equalizer. It has a dry wt of 4310 lbs, a GVWR of about 5363 lbs (4310 dry + 1833 cargo), and I expect it run <5000 lbs down the road. I'm not expecting any problems.

My Silverado has a tow capacity of 7500 lbs. Of course, payload is an issue to be aware of, too. On the Roo 19, with a dry hitch wt of 446 lbs, plus some down the road (the WDH and cargo), I'm still good on payload (just the DW and I). I'll still be good with the 2503S.

A word of caution: Anything anyone tells you about the capability of a 1500 you need to take with a grain of salt. My Silverado's owners manual lists 99 (yes, 99!) different permutations of the 1500 (different engines, trannys, rear ends, HD equipment, std cab, extd cab, crew cab, etc.) The towing capacity of these 99 permutations ran from around 4800 lbs up to about 11,000 lbs (I've quoted the exact #'s in other posts). That's quite a spread. (Keep this in mind when that RV salesman tells you "Oh, sure, a 1500 can pull this trailer!" Well, maybe it can and maybe it can't!)

Bottom line: You need to know exactly what the towing capacity and payload is for the TV you intend to use.

All that being said, it SOUNDS like you'll be OK as you have more tow capacity than I do and I'm not worried.

Of course, I haven't pulled my 2503S yet, either. Ask me again in a few weeks!

You won't have a problem. I got the 4 point equalizer and my F-150 pulled it just fine. You won't have a problem with this set up. Your 1500 will do fine.
I retired and bought a new F-250 6.7 and took it on a trip to South Padre Island. Never knew it was there. What a truck! I am keeping this one a l-o-n-g time. Got it loaded. You can even plug a coffee pot in the front seat and brew yourself a cup with the 110 volt outlet!
If i were you i'd go with the 2304DS, two slides with a murphy bed. It's like a dance floor in there! All power jacks, great AC, glassed in shower. No brainer! I got mine for $22,000.00 at FunTown RV in Cleburne, Texas. I have a dealer 2 miles away that was way too high and had to order it.

I have the 2503s and pull it with a 2014 5.3L Silverado with no problem. I have the 600# Equalizer and it tracks like a dream. I love the camper and it's layout. Perfect for wife and myself.

Wow, I'm feeling pretty good. I got my 2503S with Sapphire package and almost every option, for $18,500. I did have to order it, though.

19FD

Decision time. I guess I will purchase the Flagstaff Micro Lite 19FD from Cheyenne Camping Center in Walcott Iowa for $14,000. I like the 2304KS with the slide out but the RV dealer here in Arkansas wants $20,000. Since it is just the wife and I and I can save $6,000, I do not mind driving for several days to save some money. We do not require a big camper and the 19FD seems to fit the bill. It has all the accessories (except the slide out) that we like. With the murphy bed in the up position, that will provide us the sufficient space during the day until time to go to bed. Any comments from anyone who purchased a 19FD?

I paid $17,500 for my 2015 2503S here in NW Pa. The kitchen slide and Murphy bed is what we really like.

I'm with you rockfordroo. 2504S w/sapphire and almost every option for $19,500 out the door (includes sales tax, brake controller and wdh too). I also ordered mine to get all the options I wanted.

X2 - It's what tipped us from the 2304KS to the 2503S.
