it helps if you posted the brand and model of a/c and is it BFTC(blast from the center) a/c or ducted a/c.
if it's the BFTC a/c, you have to be an electrical genius to configure a thermostat for that type of a/c.
that's one big reason we went with the ducted a/c, you can use a thermostat for the a/c and the furnace.
