MiniLite 2104S Tires

I have one year and about 6,000 miles on my original set of Akuret(??) tires. So far no problems, but with camping season fast approaching I'm wanting to know if I need to go ahead and replace them with a better brand of tire. I read about a lot of tire problems on this site, am I pushing my luck to try and get another year out of them? Anyone else had problems with these tires on their Mini-Lite?

How 'bout them Cowboys!

Based on comments here and on other forums you are pushing your luck to try to get another day out of them.

At some point during every day you suddenly realize nothing else productive is going to happen the rest of that day. For me, it usually occurs around 9 am.

I would look at the weight of your rig versus the rating of the tire. Also how do they do holding pressure? When you check them how much pressure have the lost in how much time? If they lose too much too fast you would want to replace them.

I suspect a lot of the problems everybody has with any of the tires are too much weight and not enough air pressure. Your smaller TT will be of benefit here.

I am well beyond that mileage with no side wall cracking or belt separation etc. My 2104S is parked outside year round but the tires are covered when parked.

If you are going to worry about it obsessively go ahead & get new ones, they will be well worth it. If you check them before every trip, then you have some more time but I wouldn't go over 6 years from the date on your tires. There are several discussions here about 'china bombs' with blow outs in their experience. It reminds us all to be careful including the tires on our TV.
