We recently received delivery on a 2019 2109s and to our surprise it came with the MoRyde steps. I am a BIG guy and was very happy to see FR did an upgrade on the entry steps. Two things I have noticed is that the entry door and screen MUST be fully open and against the RV body or the steps will not swing in or out. Also make sure that the steps 'Latch" into the storage position before closing the door and towing the RV. It is possible for you to lift the steps and close the entry door and travel away and would most likely put some damage to the inside of your door because the steps are not latched in place. Other thing I have noticed is that if your RV is too high at the front end and not near the level position, the screen door and entry doors will ""RUB" and possibly not close because the MoRyde threshold is not fully down.

I went with the TorkLift GlowSteps...

I do know a lot of people who swear by the MorRyde steps, though...

I don't like the swingout MorRyde steps because they block the entire entryway so you can't even enter the RV unless you deploy the steps, but they can't always be deployed due to obstructions or being parked too close to another RV in storage or other obstacle.

I just read on another site earlier today about someone who opened the entrance door to their RV upon arrival to a campground to find the MorRyde steps had somehow fallen the other way inside their RV and smashed the table in their dinette.

I don't know...too many what if's for me!

Here are my GlowSteps...

If you aren’t committed to them, consider the Torklift Glowstep Revolution steps. Same sturdiness without some of the negatives.

Make sure you have adjusted the feet correctly and the step threshold is all the way down on the door threshold. I have been able to get my steps to go flat across in many leveling challenges. Each foot can be set differently.
I love the steps.

I actually installed the Morryde steps on our trailer. I do like them, Yes I see the door has to be fully open for the steps to come out. Something I can live with. I took out the old steps and installed the Morryde storage box. As you can see in the photos the car is pretty close to the trailer and have plenty of room to put them out. And the storage box fit nicely where the old steps were. Not sure why they show upside down,. Over all I'm happy with my setup.

I have the Solid Step(s), which appear to be almost the exact same thing. Love them.

It’s this site, not you. I post the same pictures to multiple places and everywhere else orients them correctly. Here, though- upside down or sideways.

This is probably for a good reason, though. It looks like there would be much more labor and higher priced, quality materials used in building the GlowSteps. Coming from Torklift, I am sure they are very well made.

I have steps. Love them They are great. I removed he old ones and also install a box to carry wheel stops and drills for jacks.

Do have to make sure it is locked when closing. And when you get parked have to level stairs. Each leg has extenders to balance. Also door must be open all the way to put them inside trailer when ready to leave. Very sturdy steps.

I have the Mo-ryde steps and hate them.

- hard to adjust the legs if your site is slightly out of level
- If your site is a LOT out of level they either interfere with the door closing or they 'dangle in the wind' because they don't have enough adjustment
- when wet, and closed, they drip on your floor

This winter I'm going to take mine off my camper, and cut the mounting plate in half. I'll rivet on a strong piano hinge to make the hinge articulate to allow for better adjustment when using in out of level conditions.

I guess I worded that poorly. I didn’t intend to suggest that the MorRyde steps were made of poor quality materials — I meant that the materials used for the GlowSteps are probably more expensive due to their need for being strong and lightweight at the same time.

Oddly, I cannot access page 2 of this thread.
Before disconnecting or leveling your TT at a new campsite, open your doors, put down your steps, and make sure the steps will hang snugly on the threshold to allow the doors to proper open and close. Took me TWICE at campsites rehooking and moving my TT wheels up on levelers to allow the stairs to hang correctly. I could not retract the stair feet enough. I also had an instance of my TT wheels sinking into my yard causing the doors to jam on the step top. That time I jacked the TT up enough to retract the steps so I could hook up & move the TT wheels onto large boards. Now I use 14x14x1.5" concrete pads to prevent that problem.
These stairs were a big selling point in my TT purchase and I prefer them.

Same here......... DW has severe back pain (had injections last week) plus she has bouts of vertigo. Having stairs that stand on the ground and don't bounce are a God-send for her plus she can't reach the trailer's assist handle from the ground. The MORryde's add-on assist handle is really helpful for her.

We've never parked anywhere where we couldn't get the feet set right. I put a bullet level on a step to get the foot pads as level as possible which always allows the door to close properly AND that also keeps the DW from getting vertigo dizzy if the steps don't feel level.

The GlowSteps also make contact with the ground.

And (I don't have pics, but I'll take them next time I go to storage)...I can actually use them like a ladder to get in the 5'ver if in a real tight spot.

We liked the Glowsteps but they required complete removal of the factory steps. We went with the Rv-Co steps because they are independent of the TT. They are simply clamped to the TT's top step and have the leveler steps for the bottom. The steps have more depth and there is an optional deck. The greater depth is important because I wear a CROW boot - think removable walking cast Anyway, we'll find out soon enough how well they do
