Mounting solar panels to the roof of a Rockwood 8329SS

Hi all,

First a quick intro - brand new owner of a 2015 Rockwood Signature Ultra-light 8329SS. Haven't taken delivery yet, but looking forward to it!

The trailer will be used exclusively for "Boondocking" - so the first job is to deck it out with a solar setup. I am completely comfortable designing and installing such a system. The one thing I am not too comfortable with is the simple act of attaching the panels to the roof of my brand new TT!

From the manual, I see the roof is plywood-over-foam. I have heard of "Well nuts" being used, is that the best sort of mount? Is there any limit of how deep I should screw, to avoid hitting any thing such as an AC vent?

Thanks in advance for the replies...

Chris.
